Example of a trendy backyard deck design in New York with a fire pit and no cover

A sunken fire pit with built in seating helps to preserve views to the golf course and maximizes seating space. Composite decking from Cali Bamboo is used to clad the seating bench. Synthetic grass softens and accents the entry into this area.

The infinity-edge swimming pool, which measures 40 by 60 feet, was designed so that water flows toward a crackling fire pit in this complete backyard entetainment space.

This garden was designed to celebrate panoramic views of the San Gabriel mountains. Horizontal bands of slate tile from the interior of the mid-century home wrap around the house’s perimeter and extend to the rear pool area, inviting the family outdoors. With a pool framed by mature trees, a sunken seating area, fruit trees, and a modest lawn for a young family, the landscape provides a wide range of opportunities for play, entertaining and relaxation.

One of many nice features about this deck is the sunken fire pit seating area under a pergola. A nice, relaxing spot for cool evenings.
