This Topsider Florida Keys elevated pedestal home survived Hurricane Irma and is a great example of both Keys living architecture and safety. All Topsider Keys homes are the ultimate in survivability during hurricanes with their “battleship” quality structural system.

See Plan https://utm.guru/uioqk. Engineered to withstand hurricane force winds exceeding 180 mph, this low-maintenance stilt-piling house was designed using Topsider’s unique hurricane-resistant post & beam building system. Topsider’s custom designed homes in the Bahamas, Caribbean, Florida, and along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts have survived innumerable major hurricanes over the past 55 years.

This project won in the 2013 Builders Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh Housing Excellence Award for Best Urban Renewal Renovation Project. This is an organic Lime Wash done with a true lime wash product as opposed to a brick mortar or concrete that is often seen on new houses. This product can be applied as a solid coating making the surface completely white, or can be applied and "washed off" in many artistic ways, as seen here. If you hate your brick or just want something unique this is a great option!

Parrot's Beak (Lotus maculatus), cascading down the concrete wall. Pared with Euphorbia myrsinites and Blue Oat Grass. Lagoon-side property in the Bel Marin Keys, Novato, CA. Entertaining and enjoying the views were a primary design goal for this project. The project includes a large camaru deck with built-in seating. The concrete steps and pavers lead down to the water's edge. I included a sunken patio on one side and a beautiful Buddha statue on the other, surrounded by succulents and other low-water, contemporary plantings. I also used Dymondia ground cover to create a natural pathways within the garden. Photo: © Eileen Kelly, Dig Your Garden Landscape Design. Design Eileen Kelly
