This is a large curved window facing west. Customer already had existing Hunter Douglas Duette cell shades with motorization but wanted total room darkening and super insulating treatment on this window. We custom curved the rod and installed functioning interlined and blackout lined silk drapery panels. We then added the stationary side panels with a large pattern. the top treatment is made in individual pieces so that we were able to manipulate the placement during the installation.

This great-room incorporates the living, dining , kitchen as well as access to the back patio. It is the perfect place for entertaining and relaxing. We restored the floors to their original warm tone and used lots of warm neutrals to answer our client’s desire for a more masculine feeling home. A Chinese cabinet and custom-built bookcase help to define an entry hall where one does not exist.
We completely remodeled the kitchen and it is now very open and inviting. A Caesarstone counter with an overhang for eating or entertaining allows for three comfortable bar stools for visiting while cooking. Stainless steal appliances and a white apron sink are the only features that still remain.
A large contemporary art piece over the new dining banquette brings in a splash of color and rounds out the space. Lots of earth-toned fabrics are part of this overall scheme. The kitchen, dining and living rooms have light cabinetry and walls with accent color in the tile and fireplace stone. The home has lots of added storage for books, art and accessories.
In the living room, comfortable upholstered pieces with casual fabrics were created and sit atop a sisal rug, giving the room true California style. For contrast, a dark metal drapery rod above soft white drapery panels covers the new French doors. The doors lead out to the back patio. Photography by Erika Bierman

These homeowners enlisted the help of Design Connection, Inc. to update their great room. They wanted to keep the comfort of their home yet bring its design into this century. Usually, we take measurements, create a digital footprint of each room and come up with a space plan before we start having fun selecting colors and fabrics. These homeowners happened to fall in love with a bolt of fabric that was sitting on a shelf in my office. This fabric swatch set the design in motion and was selected for the drapery, sitting chair and throw pillows.
Because this room is used for lots of lounging and relaxing, creating comfortable custom furnishings was key in this design. Our clients love the new leather ottoman that is large enough to share and enjoy from nearly every seat in this living space. The updated lamps with large, round shades, the metallic wall art and accessories complete the look of this newly transformed, comfortable living space by Design Connection, Inc.

A sumptuous upholstered bed in a beige just dark enough to provide a contrast to the wall color, sets the stage for the overlay of soft colors. Pared down to the pure tones of the sand, surf and sea, this master bedroom is the picture of serenity.
Distinct Kamala bedding is showcased by the perfect blend of of blue, tan and beige colorblocks on panel drapes. Natural wood and soft white bedside tables reflect the preferences of this couple for both beauty practicality. A large dresser with special hardware conceals the bulky array of components so often crowding a bedroom with digital displays, glaring light and rows of knobs. The remotes are tucked away in drawers in the table on the left.
Here is a perfect of good design honoring and reflectiong the preferences of clients.

Birches 1394 Autumn ImpressionismIt was not difficult to imagine scenes Claude Monet would have painted. The forms and trees in our woods in the Autumn make Impressionism clear and are a big joy to make into print form for all to enjoy. You'll find sets of these here are available in big tree sizes of high definition to fit you environment with nature tones zen zone. Textural application of dimensional shimmer and 3d along with signed giclee prints are a valuable option you have. These are my photographs morphed into hand-done digital paintings which eventually become oil or watercolor or some other mixed media in line with the ideas of impressionists who were accused of throwing paint around. Yes, and that is exactly what Autumn does. It throws audacity into leaves, sends a wind that reminds you with an acorn to the nogan that we should pay attention to trees. Wishing Claude were here to paint with me.
