The Owners of a home that had been consumed by the moving dunes of Lake Michigan wanted a home that would not only stand the test of aesthetic time, but survive the vicissitudes of the environment.
With the assistance of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality as well as the consulting civil engineer and the City of Grand Haven Zoning Department, a soil stabilization site plan was developed based on raising the new home’s main floor elevation by almost three feet, implementing erosion studies, screen walls and planting indigenous, drought tolerant xeriscaping. The screen walls, as well as the low profile of the home and the use of sand trapping marrum beachgrass all help to create a wind shadow buffer around the home and reduce blowing sand erosion and accretion.
The Owners wanted to minimize the stylistic baggage which consumes most “cottage” residences, and with the Architect created a home with simple lines focused on the view and the natural environment. Sustainable energy requirements on a budget directed the design decisions regarding the SIPs panel insulation, energy systems, roof shading, other insulation systems, lighting and detailing. Easily constructed and linear, the home harkens back to mid century modern pavilions with present day environmental sensitivities and harmony with the site.

This is a mix of food palette recycled glass tile mosaics. We utilize a combination of sizes to break up the tic-tac-toe grid of the tile mounting. This provides a more organic and comfortable aesthetic.
Our glass tile mosaics are completely customizable to suit our customers' taste. We have over 300 colors to choose from. We do mockups in our showroom and send samples for out of state customers. Lead time is usually about 2 weeks from time of order.
Our photos are mostly not shot by professional photographers. Please excuse. We hope our products speak for themselves.

Clients came to us early on during their home-buying phase. They had to decide between a brand-new condo only needing some additional cabinetry and an older condo needing everything, but with a much better view. Once they learned we also offer GC services, and one company could do it all, they decided to purchase the older unit and make it their own. Brand new over-sized porcelain floor tile, imported from Italy and to look like wood, set the standard. The clients who love to travel have a very eclectic style, and it was fun to bring in a splash of color into the cabinetry to bring it all together. While shopping for the tile, the client spotted a wall-paper made in Italy, which was the perfect find for the back wall of the powder bath.
The LEICHT cabinets vary from high-gloss SIRIUS CONTINO in the kitchen, the MINERA matt finish in the office and the TOPOS real veneer front for the master bath. Countertops are white quartz through-out for continuity.
The challenge here was that we started this remodel right when the pandemic happened, and being such a huge project, it was all consuming. But somehow we were allowed in the building, sometimes one person or one trade at the time, and we were able to finish this project on-time, even with several change-orders.

*[WEAVE DESCRIPTION] Utilizing the ancient and authentic hand-knotted technique, this area rug epitomizes the most traditional method of crafting area rugs. The process begins on a wooden frame intricately assembled with vertical threads tightly secured between top and bottom bars to create essential tension. These vertical threads, referred to as warps, form the base for weaving the weft threads horizontally through them. Despite its time-intensive nature, this method allows for intricate detailing and offers ample opportunities for diverse design possibilities. Furthermore, the resultant area rug boasts exceptional durability, ensuring its longevity for years to come.
*[MATERIAL DESCRIPTION] Jute is one of the most affordable and eco-friendly natural fibers available, commonly used for weaving area rugs. The use of jute as a raw material not only enhances the rug's durability but also contributes to environmental sustainability, as jute is biodegradable and renewable
*[PROPER SET UP & CARE] The area rug is weaved by the expert artisans with high density for its unmatched durability. It can be placed on high traffic areas with proper care. It can be installed over any kind of surface and creases can be removed just by rolling up the rug in reverse order.
*[FLOOR PROTECTION] For floor protection, this area rug can be used with pads that keep the safety of the floor intact. Be it the stone flooring, wooden or tile flooring, the rug pads will be the best for protection.
*[CLEANING METHODS] To effectively remove dust from jute area rugs, the vacuum cleaning method is recommended. However, for stains or heavy dust accumulation, a gentle wash can be employed to restore the rug's cleanliness. After washing, it's important to ensure thorough drying of the area rug, preferably under sunlight, as this helps it regain its natural sheen and freshness.
