BISTRO BOTANICA
Vintage kitchen charm, with a tropical twist.
DESIGN DESCRIPTION
This space pairs the nostalgic charm of an Old World kitchen with a breath of tropical whimsy. Soft aqua Shaker cabinetry, detailed with crossbuck uppers and open shelving, wraps the room in calm, cheerful colour. A dramatic watercolour mural of lush leaves and golden cockatoos turns one wall into a garden, while a marble-topped bistro table and bentwood stools create an inviting spot for morning coffee. Black-and-white hexagon tile, a stainless farmhouse sink and dark matte countertops ground the palette. Swing-arm sconces, vintage-inspired glass ceiling lights and diamond-paned windows add a final layer of character. The result is joyful, timeless and full of personality.

MODERN HEIRLOOM
A historic house, eclectically reimagined.
DESIGN DESCRIPTION
The original Victorian details of this home are preserved and paired with a collected, modern sensibility. The story begins in the foyer, where encaustic tile, oak panelling and stained glass are warmed by coral grasscloth. A grand oak staircase, dressed in a striped runner beneath a sculptural brass chandelier, rises to a stained-glass window seat. In the dining room, a lacquered teal ceiling and botanical wallpaper crown chartreuse velvet chairs and a glowing smoked-glass chandelier. The living room plays jewel-toned velvets and sculptural pieces against carved plaster and leaded glass, while the powder room makes a bold statement in graphic tile and an ornate silver mirror. Upstairs, the palette softens to luminous white. In the bedroom, a wall of antiqued mirror glows above sumptuous linen beside a carved oak mantel. In the bathroom, an antique oak sideboard has been reborn as a vanity, set beside a sculptural soaking tub and Calacatta marble. Throughout the home, richness is balanced with restraint, and heritage with quiet luxury.

OBSIDIAN RETREAT
Dark, dramatic and serenely spa-like.
DESIGN DESCRIPTION
This bathroom is a study in moody sophistication, where bold natural stone meets calm, sculptural form. A book-matched slab of black marble, swept with silver veining, rises behind a freestanding soaking tub set on a raised charcoal platform and washed in soft cove lighting. A floating double vanity in richly figured exotic wood and an illuminated mirror bring warmth and modern polish. In the powder room, a hammered nickel vessel sink sits atop a sculptural wood plinth against a shimmering mineral-textured wall. Shoji-inspired panels and a slender cone pendant add a quiet, Zen-like elegance. The result is a private sanctuary that feels both indulgent and serene.

Example of a mid-sized transitional master gray floor and porcelain tile bathroom design in New York with shaker cabinets, gray cabinets, white walls, a drop-in sink, quartz countertops and white countertops

This white kitchen is grounded by the dark espresso island. Carrara marble island with wine storage on the side create a beautiful contrast to the white cabinets with the silestone grey countertops and herringbone backsplash tile. This kithchen renovation included the removal of a load bearing wall to open it up and make it feel bright and airy.
