The original kitchen was dark, dingy and dated! With the criteria given, we transformed this space into a bright uplifting and family friendly space. We retained the original kitchen footprint and kept plumbing and electrical in the same locations for budgetary considerations. The kitchen was redesigned with entertaining in mind. From custom two-toned cabinetry to sophisticated banquette seating, we re-imagined a bright space with a new personality reaping the benefits of the influx of natural light from the double height windows in the adjacent great room. From the calcutta marble tile backsplash, caesarstone counter tops and porcelain tile floors, this updated kitchen provided my clients with their dream kitchen …a bright white entertainers delight. This remodel consisted of a whole house transformation. We took this 3 bedroom dated home and turned it into a 5 bedroom award winning showpiece, all without an addition. By reworking the awkward floor plan and lowering the living room floor to be level with the rest of the house we were able to create additional space within the existing footprint of the home. What was once the small lack-luster master suite, is now 2 kids bedrooms that share a jack and jill bath. The master suite was relocated to the first floor, and the kitchen that was located right at the front door, is now located in the back of the home with great access to the patio overlooking the golf course. The newly renovated kitchen includes multiple finishes and textures, including subway tile, sueded perimeter countertops and white Alaskan island countertop. Modern appliances with proper clearances and ventilation also improve the functionality of the space.

Children can easily come and go via the Mud Room door to the backyard play area. The space also multi functions as a connection to the laundry, artist studio and garage. Custom cabinetry offers plenty of options to stow away jackets, bags and shoes. The dark hardware contrasts nicely against the white and gray cabinetry, and the plank wall provides durability to the built-in. The deep wooden bench relates to the wood floors throughout the rest of the main level, while the porcelain tile provides durability and a playful pattern to greet the family every day.

This stately townhouse underwent a full renovation from both the DHD Architecture and Interiors team to provide a young family with rooms to grow into. Spaces were updated with contemporary furnishings and refined architectural details, while still honoring the classic, formal elements of the historic home. The expansive outdoor space is framed by the dining area’s floor to ceiling windows and bold window treatment. DHD’s interiors team aimed to transform the room into an inviting and livable space for the family, designing a custom kitchen banquette and using playfully bright, warm color tones. While the master bedroom keeps to a soft, muted palette incorporating deep shades of purples, the children’s rooms are extravagantly fun, complete with fuchsia bedding and oversized Lucite table lamps. Huge re-model including taking ceiling from a flat ceiling to a complete transformation. Bamboo custom cabinetry was given a grey stain, mixed with walnut strip on the bar and the island given a different stain. Huge amounts of storage from deep pan corner drawers, roll out trash, coffee station, built in refrigerator, wine and alcohol storage, appliance garage, pantry and appliance storage, the amounts go on and on. Floating shelves with a back that just grabs the eye takes this kitchen to another level. The clients are thrilled with this huge difference from their original space.
