Lincoln Park is the home of one of the latest successes for a CHP client. They approached CHP with two different storage needs — and started by wrapping their walk-in closet and laundry area in delicious colors of Milky Way and White. In the laundry room, existing countertops worked well with the newly designed cabinets installed just below. A combination of hidden space behind doors, plus open shelving, provides ample storage space. The Milky Way columns were the perfect touch of spacing for the new front load washer and dryer. The design combined a pleasing look with efficient use of space. Of course, no one ever says, “No,” to a new walk-in closet. This simple walk-in was, certainly, a storage area to which one could easily say, “Yes.” The combination of open shelving for sweaters and pants, drawers for undergarments, and multiple hanging heights, creates an efficiently organized closet, that can store almost any wardrobe. Chicagoland Home Products can design a walk-in for every need, from mini to massive.

Scott Buley, High Tech Turf & Trees, LandscapeMakeover.biz, Rain Garden Nursery. This area in the back yard, was literally flooded by water the first season. We intentionally re-worked it in the Winter, during coldest, driest weather, to purposely stay atop frozen ground, to avoid destroying soil structure. Otherwise in wet weather, we'd have both rutted and compacted it, worsening conditions. We trenched, tiled, and installed Rain Gardens to drain it. Planted improved variety Turf-Type Tall Fescue in following June. It can't be successfully seeded earlier, or beyond the end of August. A great choice though, as it is more drought tolerant, and handles compaction better than most other varieties.

Scott Buley, High Tech Turf & Trees, Rain Garden Nursery, LandscapeMakeover.biz These nearly new perennial ryegrass and Turf-Type Tall Fescue lawns were complete success. Unfortunately, despite everyone's best efforts, the new septic drainfield on this new home failed, and we had to remove the sod to allow their building contractor's installer to re-do the drain field Fortunately the sod had grown in so well in just 6 short months, we were able to cut the sod off and re-use it elsewhere on the property. The following photos, and more on the bottom of this project, show just how successful this new grass variety has been. All the lawn above this line was removed with this sod cutter.

Simple elegance. Note the understated, yet dramatic, wall trim behind the bed. Painted the same color as the rest of the trim, this feature is a simple way to update your space without adding fussy details. The bedding provides a wonderful bridge to tie the wall, carpet, and trim colors, as well. Art could also provide this bridge to cohesiveness. For staging, less is more.
