Before photo of this front yard. Beautiful large spruce trees had not been maintained in years, leading to overgrowth on the pathways up to the front of the house. Erosion was unchecked and there was little to no functionality or curb appeal.

In this beautiful farmhouse style home, our Carmel design-build studio planned an open-concept kitchen filled with plenty of storage spaces to ensure functionality and comfort. In the adjoining dining area, we used beautiful furniture and lighting that mirror the lovely views of the outdoors. Stone-clad fireplaces, furnishings in fun prints, and statement lighting create elegance and sophistication in the living areas. The bedrooms are designed to evoke a calm relaxation sanctuary with plenty of natural light and soft finishes. Engineered cedar siding creates beautiful gray-blue tones at the exterior of the home, while adding a textural element to activate the simple exterior design.

Boulder County, Colorado is home to over 100,000 acres of open space. These lands help to conserve the natural, cultural, and agricultural resources that would otherwise be up for unchecked commercial development. Homes that border open space land have an opportunity to support that 'transitional edge', as a place for plant and animal diversity. Native and pollinator-friendly perennials line the dry creek bed, with water runoff benefiting the plants. Keeping a 'natural look' with the landscape so that it flows to the open space was a key desire of the homeowner. The plants are still quite young here, but were selected so that full-grown they would not diminish the expansive views.
