We added paneling to the walls, archway, door frames, and around the fireplace for a special and unique look throughout the home. To create the entry with convenient built-in shoe storage and bench, we cut an alcove an existing to hallway. What a treat it was to work on this 190-year-old colonial home! Since the home is on the Historical Register, we worked with the owners on its preservation by adding historically accurate features and details. The stucco is accented with “Colonial Blue” paint on the trim and doors. The copper roofs on the portico and side entrance and the copper flashing around each chimney add a pop of shine. A door with a mirror inlay is the entrance to this bathroom. The white, hexagonal Carrera marble floor combines beautifully with the white subway tiles on the wall and the Carrera marble countertop. The built-in storage cabinet with wavy glass was built right into the wall, maximizing space and adding storage. What started as an addition project turned into a full house remodel in this Modern Craftsman home in Narberth, PA. The addition included the creation of a sitting room, family room, mudroom and third floor. As we moved to the rest of the home, we designed and built a custom staircase to connect the family room to the existing kitchen. We laid red oak flooring with a mahogany inlay throughout house. Another central feature of this is home is all the built-in storage. We used or created every nook for seating and storage throughout the house, as you can see in the family room, dining area, staircase landing, bedroom and bathrooms. Custom wainscoting and trim are everywhere you look, and gives a clean, polished look to this warm house. The new red oak flooring continues in this bright dining room. We also added crown molding to the ceiling, painted the walls and the fireplace surround. The main projects in this Wayne, PA home were renovating the kitchen and the master bathroom, but we also updated the mudroom and the dining room. Using different materials and textures in light colors, we opened up and brightened this lovely home giving it an overall light and airy feel. Interior Designer Larina Kase, of Wayne, PA, used furniture and accent pieces in bright or contrasting colors that really shine against the light, neutral colored palettes in each room. Made using the Bison system, these terra cotta tiles are elevated on posts to allow for drainage underneath.
