Our clients have lived in this 1985 North Dallas home for almost 10 years, and it was time for a change. They had to decide whether to move or give the home an update. They were in a small quiet neighborhood tucked away near the popular suburb of Addison and also near the beautiful Celestial Park. Their backyard was like a hidden paradise, which is hard to find in Dallas, so they decided to update the two primary areas that needed it: the kitchen and the master bathroom. The kitchen had a black and white retro checkerboard tile floor, and the bathroom was very Tuscan. There were no cabinets on the main wall in the kitchen before. They were lacking space and functionality and desperately needed a complete overhaul in their kitchen. There were two entryways leading into the kitchen from the foyer, so one was closed off and the island was eliminated, giving them space for an entire wall of cabinets. The cabinets along this back kitchen wall were finished with a gorgeous River Rock stain. The cabinets on the other side of the kitchen were painted Polar, creating a seamless flow into the living room and creating a one-of-a-kind kitchen! Large 24x36 Elysium Tekali crema polished porcelain tiles created a simple, yet unique kitchen floor. The beautiful Levantina quartzite countertops pulled it all together and everything from the pop-up outlets in the countertops to the roll-up doors on the pantry cabinets, to the pull-out appliance shelves, makes this kitchen super functional and updated!

This home in Redmond’s Union Hill neighborhood underwent a complete overhaul including a remodel, layout updates, custom furnishings and styling throughout. The floor plan and flow of the spaces were updated for contemporary living, while the design emits a timeless ambiance.

The Design Styles Architecture team beautifully remodeled the exterior and interior of this Carolina Circle home. The home was originally built in 1973 and was 5,860 SF; the remodel added 1,000 SF to the total under air square-footage. The exterior of the home was revamped to take your typical Mediterranean house with yellow exterior paint and red Spanish style roof and update it to a sleek exterior with gray roof, dark brown trim, and light cream walls. Additions were done to the home to provide more square footage under roof and more room for entertaining. The master bathroom was pushed out several feet to create a spacious marbled master en-suite with walk in shower, standing tub, walk in closets, and vanity spaces. A balcony was created to extend off of the second story of the home, creating a covered lanai and outdoor kitchen on the first floor. Ornamental columns and wrought iron details inside the home were removed or updated to create a clean and sophisticated interior. The master bedroom took the existing beam support for the ceiling and reworked it to create a visually stunning ceiling feature complete with up-lighting and hanging chandelier creating a warm glow and ambiance to the space. An existing second story outdoor balcony was converted and tied in to the under air square footage of the home, and is now used as a workout room that overlooks the ocean. This inviting kitchen renovation balances classic craftsmanship with fresh, transitional style. Our clients loved the timeless bones of their home but were ready for a space that felt brighter, more functional, and infused with personality. We kept the original cabinetry layout, refinishing the perimeter in a soft, creamy hue that instantly brightened the room, then introduced a rich green island to anchor the space and bring warmth and contrast. A glossy handmade Zellige tile backsplash adds depth and subtle color variation, complementing the mixed metal details throughout—from the brass hardware to the black-and-brass statement lighting. The large island now serves as the heart of the kitchen with updated seating, a spacious quartz countertop and plenty of room for gathering. To enhance functionality, we transformed an unused wall into a hardworking home office nook featuring floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, floating shelves, and a mosaic tile that adds texture without overwhelming the space. Natural wood floors and organic touches round out the design, creating a kitchen that feels both elevated and deeply livable—perfect for cooking, entertaining, and everyday family life.

Our clients – a family of four – had moved into a terraced home that needed updating. Our brief was an interiors scheme for the whole house. The living room needed character adding back to it, so we chose pieces that complimented the original features of the beautiful house. The neutral bathroom was designed to feel light and airy. In the kitchen, deep hues compliment neutral wood, for a modern update. For the study area – an extension of the living room – we chose a muted blue to contrast against the light oak, for a calming space to work, featuring bespoke joinery (seen here).

Facelift to this bathroom included removal of an internal wall that was dividing the vanity area from the toilet \ shower area. A huge shower was constructed instead (4.5' by 6.5') the vanity was slightly moved to allow enough space for a wall mounted toilet to be constructed. 1920's hand painted concrete tiles were used for the floor to give the contrast to the modern look of the toilet and shower, black hexagon tiles for the shower pan and the interior of the shampoo niche and large white subway tiles for the shower wall. The bench and the base of the niche are done with a 1 piece of Quartz material for a sleek and clean look. The vanity is a furniture style with storage underneath and Carrera marble on top. All the plumbing fixtures are by Kohler with a vibrant modern gold finish.
