An original overhead soffit, tile countertops, fluorescent lights and oak cabinets were all removed to create a modern, spa-inspired master bathroom. Color inspiration came from the nearby ocean and was juxtaposed with a custom, expresso-stained vanity, white quartz countertops and new plumbing fixtures. By removing all of the oversized fixtures and opening up the space this bathroom now feels inviting and roomy. The classic marble floors patterned in herringbone and crisp white subway tile that lines the walls is in keeping with the style in the home and is clean and fresh. Natural and rich cherry cabinetry works well with the natural wood throughout the home and Chain link shower curtain gives this bathroom a contemporary and finish. Blending the old with the new.

This project was a joy to work on, as we married our firm’s modern design aesthetic with the client’s more traditional and rustic taste. We gave new life to all three bathrooms in her home, making better use of the space in the powder bathroom, optimizing the layout for a brother & sister to share a hall bath, and updating the primary bathroom with a large curbless walk-in shower and luxurious clawfoot tub. Though each bathroom has its own personality, we kept the palette cohesive throughout all three.
