A beautiful free-standing tub with modern tub filler were used to modernize the space and added a stunning focal point in the room. Two custom tall medicine cabinets were built to match the vanity and the closet cabinets for additional storage in the space with glass doors. The closet space was designed to match the bathroom cabinetry and provide closed storage without feeling narrow or enclosed. The outcome is a striking modern master suite that is not only functional but captures our homeowners’ great style

These are some perfect examples of Waterfall and Book matched applications utilizing the vein patterns in this particular Granite. Featured Stone: Maori Granite (Polished and leathered options available) Black and white is considered to be a "timeless" look. It never goes out of style. You can utilize a veined pattern stone in a book match or waterfall application to bring in some modern touches and create a space full of drama. A successful achievement of this is done when the stone's color is paired with a contrasting shade within the same space. Take these pictures for example. You can't stop looking at the stone and the veins in the stone. Right? Keep this tip in mind when pairing colors in your space. I find it to be especially helpful when choosing countertops, because they cover such a large area in your kitchen. Our clients were looking to erase the 90s from their master bathroom and create a space that blended their contemporary tastes with natural elements. This bathroom had wonderful bones with a high ceiling and plenty of space, but we were able to work with our clients to create a design that better met their needs and utilized the space to its full potential. We wanted to create a sense of warmth in this large master bathroom and adding a fireplace to the space did the trick. By moving the tub location, we were able to create a stunning accent wall of stacked stone that provided a home for the fireplace and a perfectly dramatic backdrop for the new freestanding bathtub. The sculptural copper light fixture helps to soften the stone wall and allowed us to emphasize those vaulted ceiling. Playing with metal finishes is one of our favorite pastimes, and this bathroom was the perfect opportunity to blend sleek matte black plumbing fixtures with a mirrored copper finish on the light fixtures. We tied the vanity wall sconces in with a dramatic sculptural chandelier above the bath tub by using copper finishes on both and allowing the light fixtures to be the shining stars of this space. We selected a clean white finish for the custom vanity cabinets and lit them from below to accentuate their floating design. We then completed the look with a waterfall quartz counter to add an elegant texture to the area and extended the stone onto the shower bench to bring the two elements together. The existing shower had been on the small side, so we expanded it into the room and gave them a more spacious shower complete with a built-in bench and recessed niche. Hard surfaces play an important role in any bathroom design, and we wanted to use this opportunity to create an interesting layer of texture through our tile selections. The bathroom floor utilizes a large-scale plank tile installed in a herringbone pattern, while the shower and walls are tiled in a polished white tile to add a bit of reflectivity. The newly transformed bathroom is now a sophisticated space the brings together sleek contemporary finishes with textured natural elements and provides the perfect retreat from the outside world.

Watertight aluminum decking is great for those looking to utilize the area beneath their decks for storage, and adding a beautiful screen room on top to enjoy the outdoors in comfort and style is a great way to utilize your space.

You fell in love with the old house. You bought her. You planned. You went out to bid. You contracted out the job and now she's done! She's still tiny, however, and it is time to entertain. You can make the most of a tiny kitchen by utilizing all the space you do have! If you keep your counter tops clear of unnecessary stuff, you will be able to set up prep and serving centers for your guests! That's what we've done. We took our Boulder clients through an amazing transformation! Almost every room in their home has been remodeled to better reflect their tastes and create spaces that functions better for their family. We utilized natural materials every step of the way and designed a balance of mid-century inspired touches and cool contemporary finishes. In the living room we removed the existing half-wall to open up the entry and dining room and create an easier transition between spaces. To make the fireplace the focal point of the living room we designed a beautiful wall of honed sandstone and sourced a reclaimed wood mantel. Increasing storage was a necessity for this home, so we added a much needed closet to the dining room, and designed semi custom floating cabinetry for the living room & dining room. We added a custom barn door to their family room to give them the option of closing the television off from the rest of their home. The clients really wanted to brighten up their dark kitchen, so we removed the black cabinets and red backsplash to make room for beautiful natural wood cabinets and a custom clay tile backsplash. Contemporary touches like a zero radius stainless steel sink, concrete light fixtures, and a double waterfall counter-top continue to echo the clean lines utilized through out the rest of the home. For the two first floor bathrooms we removed barrels full of mosaic tile and installed large scale white and grey tiles, making the rooms feel larger and reign in the visual texture. We continued to use the cool tones and clean lines in the bathrooms to tie them in with the rest of the home and give us a unified feel between spaces.

Coming from the Bay area, our clients spend a lot of time in Tahoe and therefore purchased a vacation home within close proximity to Heavenly Mountain. Their intention was to utilize the three-bedroom, three-bathroom, single-family home as a vacation rental but also as a part-time, second home for themselves. Being a vacation rental, budget was a top priority. We worked within our clients’ parameters to create a mountain modern space with the ability to sleep 10, while maintaining durability, functionality and beauty. We’re all thrilled with the result. Instead of designing the outdoor structure to match the home’s existing architecture, the homeowners also wanted it to stand on its own. They envisioned designing and building a covered patio off of the back of the house that had a feature wall, a small peninsula with exterior storage and a beverage center. In order to appeal to both client’s design styles, a modern structure was built using large steel beams. Soft greys, black, and white were used to establish a minimalist palette. The paneled ceiling was painted in a sleek grey to mimic the appearance of metal. We utilized the back of the house to create a feature wall. 7” wide rustic planks were staggered against the back wall to make the space feel more relaxed. Flooring was created from natural concrete. Honed Quartzite countertops and stainless steel drawers were utilized in the peninsula.

Our wonderful Boulder clients were looking to open up their dated 60s kitchen to rest of their home and create a much more inviting space for entertaining. By taking down their existing walls we were able to allow light to travel through their home and design a kitchen island that has become the focal point of their home! Next on our list was to remove the original soffits above their cabinets to give them taller cabinets and more storage! We used a soft grey for most of their cabinets, but to mix it up a bit, we introduced clean white cabinets in their island. To keep their kitchen feeling light and airy, we used a clean subway tile on their backsplash, and opened up the space around their window by utilizing open shelves. We wanted to accent the shelves, so we used gorgeous black iron brackets and repeated the same finish in our hardware selections to bring everything together. We utilized a deep walnut butcher block for the bar height portion of their island counter to bring some warmth into the space and give us a nice contrast to the white quartz counters we installed throughout the rest of their kitchen. We were also able to move their appliances a bit and install a gorgeous stainless steel range hood, but their new stainless steel farm house sink steals the show! We couldn’t be happier with the dramatic transformation of this kitchen and are ecstatic to have been able to give our clients a design that will serve them beautifully for years to come!

Our homeowners purchased this home for its excellent location and great bones. They were desirous of returning it to the era of it’s time while updating and modernizing it with the elegance it deserved. To add to our challenges, they were living out of the country during our design and renovation, making for great communications utilizing modern technology to ensure we could deliver what they hoped to achieve. We opened some space in the kitchen to create an updated and more functional kitchen for this active family, relocating appliances for efficiency, adding an island and relocating a chimney. We had structural challenges with the sagging hardwood floors, which required us to reframe floor systems, and while we were at it, we antique finished the hardwoods reminiscent of the 1940’s. We added wainscoting in the dining room and entry stair hallway to enhance the old-world look and added some arched openings to match other areas of the home. We also added custom moldings to the fireplace wall to allow it to shine as a focal point in the space, utilizing restored antique light fixtures. The finished result is stunning and truly honors the integrity of the original time period of this home.

This suburban home felt outdated with oak cabinets that looked too traditional. This family, now a couple with an empty nest, wanted a refresh with more modern fixtures and transitional furniture in the colors that represented them best. The color palette was inspired by their travels all over the world including frequent visits to see family in Jamaica and most recently, a vacation in Australia. Collected Interiors worked with the clients to bring an ocean-inspired color palette and fun textures to their primary bath. With visits to the plumbing showroom and tile warehouse, we were able to select more modern finishes, while keeping a fun feel in the mosaic backsplash. The family room needed a bright, and clean refresh with more modern looking cabinets, cleaner lines and still plenty of storage. Since our clients are focused on utilizing electric energy, they replaced all of their gas fireplaces and appliances with electric, and this fireplace was included. By choosing a colorful mosaic tile and paint, this room is anything but boring and stuffy. Commissioning a one-of-a-kind piece of art from their trip to Australia, we used it as a foundation to guide the rest of their design. The result was a bright and vibrant space, featuring furniture and accessories that perfectly complemented the artwork. As their children grew up and moved out to apartments of their own, our clients found themselves with two empty bedrooms and no furniture. With our Space Lift service, we were able to pull together two new bedroom looks that’s perfect for guests, but still comfortable when their adult children came to visit. We utilized the help of a color analysis expert to narrow down the wall paint by gathering inspiration from previously owned art. From there, we refined the color palettes and carried them into the furnishings and bedding.

These homeowners approached us with their design in mind which we were able to tweak for improved utilization of space. Their master bath was dated and required complete demolition to the studs, where we found some hidden space that we were able to use in the shower. By eliminating the tub, we were able to use that space for a large shower with custom handmade tile in a creative pattern utilizing mosaic, hexagon and accent tiles, and radiant floor heat was added to the bathroom floor for added comfort. By relocating the stool room, we were able to provide a custom extra deep linen cabinet for additional storage. His and Hers custom vanity’s in a painted Alpine finish with chocolate glaze and Cambria Windermere countertops book end the spacious shower, complete with a floating bench and niche for toiletries. Champagne Bronze plumbing fixtures and Visual Comfort sconces complement the geometric wallpaper and decorative beveled mirrors complete the eye-catching bathroom.

Our clients were living in a Northwood Hills home in Dallas that was built in 1968. Some updates had been done but none really to the main living areas in the front of the house. They love to entertain and do so frequently but the layout of their house wasn’t very functional. There was a galley kitchen, which was mostly shut off to the rest of the home. They were not using the formal living and dining room in front of your house, so they wanted to see how this space could be better utilized. They wanted to create a more open and updated kitchen space that fits their lifestyle. One idea was to turn part of this space into an office, utilizing the bay window with the view out of the front of the house. Storage was also a necessity, as they entertain often and need space for storing those items they use for entertaining. They would also like to incorporate a wet bar somewhere! We demoed the brick and paneling from all of the existing walls and put up drywall. The openings on either side of the fireplace and through the entryway were widened and the kitchen was completely opened up. The fireplace surround is changed to a modern Emser Esplanade Trail tile, versus the chunky rock it was previously. The ceiling was raised and leveled out and the beams were removed throughout the entire area. Beautiful Olympus quartzite countertops were installed throughout the kitchen and butler’s pantry with white Chandler cabinets and Grace 4”x12” Bianco tile backsplash. A large two level island with bar seating for guests was built to create a little separation between the kitchen and dining room. Contrasting black Chandler cabinets were used for the island, as well as for the bar area, all with the same 6” Emtek Alexander pulls. A Blanco low divide metallic gray kitchen sink was placed in the center of the island with a Kohler Bellera kitchen faucet in vibrant stainless. To finish off the look three Iconic Classic Globe Small Pendants in Antiqued Nickel pendant lights were hung above the island. Black Supreme granite countertops with a cool leathered finish were installed in the wet bar, The backsplash is Choice Fawn gloss 4x12” tile, which created a little different look than in the kitchen. A hammered copper Hayden square sink was installed in the bar, giving it that cool bar feel with the black Chandler cabinets. Off the kitchen was a laundry room and powder bath that were also updated. They wanted to have a little fun with these spaces, so the clients chose a geometric black and white Bella Mori 9x9” porcelain tile. Coordinating black and white polka dot wallpaper was installed in the laundry room and a fun floral black and white wallpaper in the powder bath. A dark bronze Metal Mirror with a shelf was installed above the porcelain pedestal sink with simple floating black shelves for storage. Their butlers pantry, the added storage space, and the overall functionality has made entertaining so much easier and keeps unwanted things out of sight, whether the guests are sitting at the island or at the wet bar! The clients absolutely love their new space and the way in which has transformed their lives and really love entertaining even more now!

They wanted to remodel the entire first floor to create a more open floor plan and develop a smoother flow through the house that better fit the needs of their family. The original layout consisted of several small rooms that just weren’t very functional, so we decided to remove the walls that were breaking up the space and restructure the first floor to create a wonderfully open feel. After removing the existing walls, we rearranged their spaces to give them an office at the front of the house, a large living room, and a large dining room that connects seamlessly with the kitchen. We also wanted to center the foyer in the home and allow more light to travel through the first floor, so we replaced their existing doors with beautiful custom sliding doors to the back yard and a gorgeous walnut door with side lights to greet guests at the front of their home. Living Room Our clients wanted a living room that could accommodate an inviting sectional, a baby grand piano, and plenty of space for family game nights. So, we transformed what had been a small office and sitting room into a large open living room with custom wood columns. We wanted to avoid making the home feel too vast and monumental, so we designed custom beams and columns to define spaces and to make the house feel like a home. Aesthetically we wanted their home to be soft and inviting, so we utilized a neutral color palette with occasional accents of muted blues and greens. Dining Room Our clients were also looking for a large dining room that was open to the rest of the home and perfect for big family gatherings. So, we removed what had been a small family room and eat-in dining area to create a spacious dining room with a fireplace and bar. We added custom cabinetry to the bar area with open shelving for displaying and designed a custom surround for their fireplace that ties in with the wood work we designed for their living room. We brought in the tones and materiality from the kitchen to unite the spaces and added a mixed metal light fixture to bring the space together Kitchen We wanted the kitchen to be a real show stopper and carry through the calm muted tones we were utilizing throughout their home. We reoriented the kitchen to allow for a big beautiful custom island and to give us the opportunity for a focal wall with cooktop and range hood. Their custom island was perfectly complimented with a dramatic quartz counter top and oversized pendants making it the real center of their home. We painted the room a deep muted blue to create a glimpse of rich color through the french doors Powder Room The powder room is a wonderful play on textures. We used a neutral palette with contrasting tones to create dramatic moments in this little space with accents of brushed gold.
