Amber works from home and was sacrificing a dining room for her home office. By utilizing the double wide closet space in her guest bedroom, she now walks into her home without the reminder of work, and can have guests over for a meal in her dining room (dining room reveal coming soon). The walls were freshly painted Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams. This gives the room a fresh, clean look and also adds contrast to the beige carpet.
Amber had her homework assignments cut out for her as she had to do some major purging in her throw all guest room. Once she started letting go, she was on a roll and continually surprised me as she cleaned out closets throughout the house. One dresser was filled with cds, dvds, books, albums, scrap-booking materials; items taking up precious real estate in her life that she didn't even know were there. There really wasn't a storage problem after-all, she was just holding on to a collection of things that no longer served her. Each time I would visit, and her space would become more open, I could see the weight lifting off her and her self love building. Amber had a recent breakup with her boyfriend and this makeover helped her not only focus on making a home sanctuary for herself, but helped her let go of the pains of the past and focus on the exciting future ahead. At one point when we were moving sofas in the living room (which we will also reveal soon), we found an ex's flip-flop. We were figuratively and literally sweeping away the past. Editing your home and your life makes room for your future; for new people and things. We are so happy to finally reveal the room to you! We can't wait to unveil the rest of Amber's home, once we complete the finishing touches.
Challenges:
Amber's home was filled with mix-matched furniture from family and college. She had no idea what her decorating style was. After shopping together and exchanging somepinterest boards, I was finally able to get a sense of what she loves.
I had to work on a tight budget, which meant really digging out the creativity and utilizing other items in the home. See how I transformed a table from the discard pile into a faux marble bedside table by clicking web link.
Amber's dad was able to help with the desk materials and building to cut costs.
We wanted to save the closet doors in the event she sold her home or no longer needed an office someday. There wasn't any extra space to store these closet doors, so I used them as a headboard.
The only items purchased were: Curtains, Curtain Rod, Bedspread Set, Throw Pillows, 2 Lamps and Paint.

Modern renovation by J Design Group is stunning
J Design Group, an expert in luxury design, completed a new project in Tamarac, Florida, which involved the total interior remodeling of this home. We were so intrigued by the photos and design ideas, we decided to talk to J Design Group CEO, Jennifer Corredor. The concept behind the redesign was inspired by the client’s relocation.
Andrea Campbell: How did you get a feel for the client's aesthetic?
Jennifer Corredor: After a one-on-one with the Client, I could get a real sense of her aesthetics for this home and the type of furnishings she gravitated towards.
The redesign included a total interior remodeling of the client's home. All of this was done with the client's personal style in mind. Certain walls were removed to maximize the openness of the area and bathrooms were also demolished and reconstructed for a new layout. This included removing the old tiles and replacing with white 40” x 40” glass tiles for the main open living area which optimized the space immediately. Bedroom floors were dressed with exotic African Teak to introduce warmth to the space.
We also removed and replaced the outdated kitchen with a modern look and streamlined, state-of-the-art kitchen appliances. To introduce some color for the backsplash and match the client's taste, we introduced a splash of plum-colored glass behind the stove and kept the remaining backsplash with frosted glass. We then removed all the doors throughout the home and replaced with custom-made doors which were a combination of cherry with insert of frosted glass and stainless steel handles.
All interior lights were replaced with LED bulbs and stainless steel trims, including unique pendant and wall sconces that were also added. All bathrooms were totally gutted and remodeled with unique wall finishes, including an entire marble slab utilized in the master bath shower stall.
Once renovation of the home was completed, we proceeded to install beautiful high-end modern furniture for interior and exterior, from lines such as B&B Italia to complete a masterful design. One-of-a-kind and limited edition accessories and vases complimented the look with original art, most of which was custom-made for the home.
To complete the home, state of the art A/V system was introduced. The idea is always to enhance and amplify spaces in a way that is unique to the client and exceeds his/her expectations.

This large guest bedroom suite showcases the not so subtle differences between clutter and collection. After sitting in boxes for years, a lifetime of sports memorabilia are utilized to give this wonderful room a story to tell.
We designed custom built-in cabinetry to display the amazing treasures of authentic steins and family photos amongst sports nostalgia, books, trophies, autographed caps, bats and balls. This "man cave" living space fits perfectly into this contemporary home and gives our client reason to smile.
As you can see, the entry, formal dining room, wet bar, and master bedroom also share an intentional and tailored design aesthetic. The design trick is not to "over-decorate" and edit your collection so that it does not overwhelm the space.
Our client told us "your team should be very proud of the incredible home that you created for this old sports fan. Thank you for making it all happen."

This is an AFTER picture of the Living Room.
Staging a home is very different to Interior Design. We keep costs a low as possible by utilizing the clients' own furnishings, editing and re-arranging them to highlight the real estate rather than the furnishings. The plan is to create clean, stylish lines that appeal to the most Buyers.

This room looked completely different before we came in and staged. There were electronics and paperwork strewn about. We utilized the homeowners existing furnishings from the home to create a cozy space centered around the beautiful fireplace.

Ms. Patrick's abstract painting is a composite of energy, movement and color. In this series the artist utilizes a mild geometric overtone and combines it with unstructured fields of color. executed with rapid movement. It reflects the joy inherent in life, as forms swirl in a free flight of possibilities.

Again, the brick walls are one of the many distinctive details found throughout this home. The open floorplan provides the perfect balance that may have been lost in a more enclosed space. Again, staging a home that is being lived in during the selling process demands the home still be liveable. Careful editing, rearranging of furniture and accessories, as well as utilizing items that allow the "fixed assets" of the house to shine is what creates a Successful Staging.

Although the basement was finished in this home, it still felt like an unfinished space with boxes and other storage items laying around. We packed away all the storage items and utilized the homeowners furnishings to create a reading/desk space. The homeowners have the very neat circular library stand that fit perfectly in the corner. Adding the blue colorful rug and chair helped make the space feel light.

Those power cords in the closet were unsightly and we didn't have the patience to wait to drill a hole under the desk (Another task for Amber's dad). Solution: I found a large frame and extra fabric and made a quick pin board. I used the same fabric to cover the harsh black mouse pad.

This secondary bedroom is smaller than the others in the home, so we utilized the homeowners single bed, dresser, and chair to make the space feel inviting.
