Our gut-rehab development of a 1890's era row home was a great success ending up with a Platinum certification from the USGBC LEED for Homes and verified by the Green Business Certification Co. We are very proud of this honor of our first LEED for Homes project and wanted to share the results here.

Designed by Nancy Knickerbocker of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Southern Pines, NC in collaboration with Dolder Custom Design and Carpenter Home Works, this transitional style inspired bathroom remodeling project features Ultracraft Cabinetry Chesapeake door style in a Coastal Grey finish, complimented by the Jeffrey Alexander Milan cabinet pull in Satin Nickel. The vanity top, one shower wall, threshold toppers and niches all feature Silestone Eternal Calacatta Gold. The other shower walls feature Emser Reserva Alto 12x24 tile and the shower floor the Daltile Vintage Hex Wisdom White. The bathroom also features Kohler fixtures, including accessories from the Devonshire collection and the Verdera medicine cabinets. Said the client, “Our designer Nancy expertly guided us through the design, selection and construction. She listened to our needs and wants and translated them into a new, beautiful and functional master bathroom.” Added Nancy, “The clients were specific in their needs and we communicated well to achieve their goal. They requested a simple, calming bathroom with accessible storage. This custom made three dimensional feature wall made entirely with European oak in our shop has recessed LED lights, a matching credenza and is 12'x17'. The client—a highly successful luxury builder himself—had exceptionally high expectations. The team developed detailed CAD drawings and life-like renderings, ensuring every aspect of the design was clearly visualized. Over the course of three design meetings, the team refined the concept based on the client’s feedback until he was fully satisfied. During fabrication, the team replicated the approved design with precision, ensuring every detail was meticulously looked after. The team built the wall in sections, ensuring they could be transported efficiently and seamlessly assembled on-site. Before staining, the team fully assembled the wall to verify perfect alignment and eliminate any margin for error. When the final structure was put together on-site, the result was so seamless that it appeared to be carved from a single solid piece of wood.
