This project began in 2015 with a major renovation of the landscape on the side and backyard of this property. First we constructed a gravel driveway with edgestones around its perimeter and a naturalized planting. The driveway led into a gravel walkway that extended around to the back of the house where it became a gravel patio. We also installed a set of natural basalt columns and carried the same naturalized planting and boulder theme around to the backyard.
This year we built upon the original project by converting the gravel patio into a paver patio and installed flagstone steppers along the gravel walkway. More recently, we just finished up adding to the planting to create a shorter privacy screening using Black Dragon Cryptomeria. We have created this new front entry porch as a transitional space and intuitive connection between the private world of the family and the public realm of the sidewalk. For a homeowner the front porch can be one of the best ways to build a sense of neighborhood community. For this front entry porch project we have added a multi pitch hip roof across the front of the home. This roof covers the sitting area and serves to properly define the front entry area of the home. This covered porch allows room for entertaining, as well as considerably improving the homes curb appeal.

Stone Ridge Farm offers complete privacy and commanding views of the Taconic Mountains. The owners, purveyors of fine Scandinavian antiques, built the 4,950-square-foot residence in 2001 at the end of a ½-mile drive. The home is a New England farmhouse with a distinct Scandinavian influence, which reflects the timeless lineage of two cultures with its high craftsmanship and attention to detail.
The interior design includes antique pickled pine floors, built in antique Scandinavian wall cabinets and four fireplaces. The Great Room with its gourmet kitchen, informal -dining and sitting area is cozy with its defining Norwegian woodstove, and spacious with its 14-foot ceilings and endless views to the South and East. The living spaces are light filled and flexible in use. There are two en-suite bedrooms, one bedroom or hobby room and two master bedroom suites, one of the first floor. The house was designed for friends and family and to function as a bed & breakfast as well. A 2-story barn and 4-bay equipment shed complete the farmstead. Threaded through the 119 acres of meadows, ponds, orchards and woodlands are miles of trails to snow shoe, x/c ski, hike, bike or ride horses. The 35 mile D & H rail trail is close by, providing additional trails to enjoy. 16 miles from Manchester’s fine dining and shopping, 22 miles to Bromley and 34 miles to Stratton.

The Goldenwood Guest House is the first phase of a larger estate multi-phase project with the clients are moving into the renovated guest house as we start construction on the main house renovation and addition soon. This is a whole-house renovation to an existing 750sf guest cottage settled near the existing main residence. The property is located West of Austin in Driftwood, TX and the cottage strives to capture a sense of refined roughness. The layout maximizes efficiency in the small space with built-in cabinet storage and shelving in the living room and kitchen. Each space is softly day lit and the open floor plan of the Living, Dining, and Kitchen allows the spaces to feel expansive without sacrificing privacy to the bedroom and restroom.
