Custom Home Theater The creative minds behind Theater Monster put their heads together to develop an inspired and unique home theater for the residents of this particular home. They wanted to design a rustic theater that their client would be proud to show to guests, so it was a must to think outside the box. After conducting extensive research, Eldorado Stone was selected to meet their design needs and Autumn Leaf RoughCut was applied to the main walls. Additionally, they incorporated further visual appeal by constructing a modern, rolling tongue and groove ceiling to resemble a sound wave. Surprisingly, the use of architectural stone veneer in this space didn’t interfere with the quality of sound throughout the home theater. The rough edges of the stone helped to break up the sound waves emitted from the sound system and resulted in an even emission of sound in this space. Smooth walls typically cause refraction of sound unless heavily insulated, so the stone did double-duty by not only looking aesthetically appealing but also acting as natural insulation. Considering this was the first time the professionals at Theater Monster veered from more standard materials and utilized stone in a theater, they couldn’t have been happier with the end result. This stone patio is actually a stone deck. The substructure is galvanized steel with helical piles 5 feet deep. It will look like new for 50 plus years and never shift from frost.

The Marcus family have optimal seating areas in the pool with a granite top table to enjoy drinks during the hot summer days of Florida. Adding on to the lounging area, the homeowners had purchased and installed a pergola, along with patio furniture to go right beneath it. As well as utilizing their existing outdoor kitchen/grill area that they had before we started the project. As you walk out of their back door step, it leads right into the steps of their pool. The homeowners have opted in marble - in the color 'Snow White', for their deck and coping, which brings a modern and elegant feel to their outdoor living space. For ambiance, the pool lighting was something they wanted to upgrade. Based on their design, they have upgraded to 4 LED Globrites, which are color changing. The lights are directly positioned towards the reverse arcfalls on the pedestals, making it the focal point of their pool and backyard as a whole. Another addition to the water features are the 4 deck jets. The deck jets are flushed to the deck and shoots out a stream of water into the pool, creating a tranquil environment of sounds. A fire feature was a must have, so the homeowners went the economical route and installed/purchased their fire bowls from an improvement store. It's a great, decorative piece to finalize the project. This Spanish Revival-inspired home in La Quinta, CA lends itself to today’s upscale desert homes and lifestyles, according to architect Frank Stolz, of Southcoast Architects. “The Estancia” that he recently designed as a second home for his client, the Taylors, blends the beauty and elegance of Old European architecture with contemporary elements that create a welcoming and comfortable desert oasis for family and friends. The 8,000 square foot home is located in the prestigious golf community of PGA West, which offers stunning views of this world class golf course and the Santa Rosa Mountains beyond. The front façade features a turnabout motor court surrounded by a water trough, which creates a relaxing, cooling effect for visitors as they arrive. The entry foyer is a point of welcome that leads guests into a gallery complimented on one side by a verdant courtyard that helps transcend the indoor/outdoor feel of the home. An expansive floor plan gives the great room a wide open feeling with stunning views of the golf course through the use of large pocket doors that fold back and open the home completely to the outdoors. The great room is flanked not only by the kitchen nook, but a large bar lounge that is the focal point for entertaining. One of the most unique spaces in the home is the dining room. “Our client asked us to create a dining experience that made them feel as if they were entertaining in a wine cellar without sacrificing their stunning view. “To achieve that, we used materials reminiscent of being in a cellar, which immediately led us to the Eldorado Stone brick line. Its tumbled, weathered style combined with an overgrout technique used in the installation gives it such a realistic look that it’s hard to believe it’s not centuries old brick we shipped from Europe.” Stolz adds, “The dramatic application of brick is used extensively in the space, covering the walls and the entire ceiling, which was designed in a barrel shape to create an even stronger wine cellar ambience.” Soffits were installed near the ceiling with a series of interesting brick patterns and then back lit to highlight the deep, rich colors found in the brick. “For an added touch we created a wine cellar below the dining room that can be seen through a glass floor.
