JAC 140 - Twilight in Space by Jon Allen The Jon Allen Collection is an exclusive, hand-selected group of my most personal work to date. Each piece is hand-painted on aluminum. My art itself and my chosen medium, aluminum, are blissfully married. You may not think of the word organic when you hear the word metal, but this is some of my most organic art and that’s simply because metal allows my work to achieve true sentience. Aluminum’s naturally reflective nature enables each color, shape, and stroke to reach its full potential. A new aspect of the painting will reveal itself to you as it basks in the light that surrounds, evades, or envelops it in that moment. When you see the piece from different angles, you will appreciate how vibrant, dynamic, and environmentally influenced these pieces are. What you may see and feel by morning is not what you’ll see or feel by dusk and in many ways, and as such I feel these pieces capture the ever-ebbing and complex nature of human emotion and perception. Some of these pieces are truly abstract while others are modern takes on traditional landscapes, marine life, and portraits. I hope you enjoy them a fraction of how much I enjoyed creating them. To create some height in the otherwise flat garden, native Redbud trees were planted at the center of each square, and small step-stones were laid for easier access to care for the plantings within the boxwood-hedged flower beds. The pattern of the step-stones helped to reinforce the idea of quilted patches stitched into old-fashioned quilts.

Design ideas for a traditional landscaping in Charleston.

For the Fletcher home we installed our new PC6/1 Single Basket, PC6/4 Double Basket, and PC4/1 Single Twist balusters in our Classic Black coating. We also replaced the painted newel posts with Oak 4500 series newel posts and replaced the 6010 Oak handrail on the right side of the stairs. We then installed a "Rake" 4212 newel post under the handrail for a cleaner, uninterrupted handrail all the way up to the top of the stairs. To finish we installed new MDF shoe rail and re-spaced the balusters to IRC Code requirements.

The rafters go right through this Cerulean Blue wall. They seem to be attached to nothing and going nowhere. This open floor plan has a multitude of angles and rafters.
