Decorative Iron work, A custom hand forged Iron screen was used as a room divider screen between this sitting room and the adjoining Master Bedroom suite of this luxury Southern California home. Geometric shapes combine to create a subtle yet striking division between the rooms. Gently curved in shape to follow the shape of the room, the screens stand 9' off the hardwood floors allowing the viewer a subtly look from room to room while creating a sense of privacy within the space. A similar yet different Iron screen was created for the window that looks into the interior courtyard. When Iron work in a home has traditionally been reserved for Spanish or Tuscan style homes, Interior Designer Rebecca Robeson finds a way to incorporate Iron in a new and fresh way using geometric shapes to transition between rooms. Custom welders followed Rebeccas plans meticulously in order to keep the lines clean and sophisticated for a seamless design element in this home. All staircases and railings in this home share similar linear lines while window embellishments and room divider screens include softer curves to add grace to the geometric shapes. San Diego based designer Rebecca Robeson creates a dream lounge type living room for her clients by paneling over existing windows to create a center focal point for this Thomas Pheasant starburst mirror. With square shades on acrylic sconces the pair flank either side of the mirror in their own molded spaces to create this perfect symmetrically balanced focal point wall. With the homeowner’s guests in mind, Interior Designer Rebecca Robeson transforms an outdated and cramped Guest Bathroom into a modern, luxury space by replacing a tiny pedestal sink with a custom built vanity providing much needed storage in a small bathroom. Making every inch count, the vanity is complete with deep storage drawers on soft-close hinges. Contemporary drawer pulls provide stylish, easy-open convenience. A petite under-mount sink allows for maximum countertop space in gleaming white marble, tying in the beautiful laser cut, oval shape stone pieces placed horizontally, Rebecca chose grey grout to surround each piece, giving it an embedded look. Carrying the feature wall from the toilet on into the back wall of the shower, this once tiny bathroom (painted red) gets a new lease on life! Rebecca’s creative solution to the lack of usable surface space was to design a custom ceiling mounted shelving unit above the toilet. Shown here, it's used for well-appointed accessory pieces but when necessary, can also serve the functional needs of guests for makeup bags, shaving kits, perfume and toiletries. We just love the way this one turned out, and are cautiously optimistic it will take home a national award next month! Stay tuned! A little about the space…The homeowners challenged us to come up with a design that incorporates a grand entrance to the pool area. The dual staircases cascading down to the magnificent gunite pool certainly makes for a grand entrance. In addition, we designed and built several vignettes that keep the party going in multiple areas of their outdoor space. Transitioning from a high deck to the pool area, and flowing from both areas was a challenge, but we think it came out pretty awesome. There are so many amenities in this space: Wolf deck, Equinox louvered roof, super custom kitchen with Twin Eagles high-end appliances, sunken fire lounge, multiple tempest torches, and custom PVC skirting. In addition, there is a dry space below with a Knotwood aluminum ceiling, and custom barn doors in Knotwood for access to storage space below. This lower level space started off as a storage space for inherited household furniture and miscellaneous infrequently used items. Pierre Jean-Baptiste Interiors reimagined the space as it now exists using some of our clients few requirements including a stage for the family comedians at the rear of the lower level, a movie screening area, a serving table for frequent soiree’s, and cozy resilient furnishings. We infused style into this lower level changing the paint colors, adding new carpet to absorb sound and provide style. We also were sure to include color in the space strategically.
