Colorful Coastal Bedroom When this little girl’s bedroom was installed, she was on the young side. The mom loved the idea of wallpaper, but she was concerned that if it was on the walls her daughter would destroy it. We suggested putting the Walnut wall covering on the ceiling instead. The pattern might have even been too busy for the walls. Used on the ceiling, it draws the eye up. This little girl is very into the princess thing. While an overly pink, princess-themed room would have been over-the-top, we made sure the space felt regal enough for its young inhabitant by installing a high canopy bed and furry shag rug. Our Indianapolis studio designed this new construction home for empty nesters. We completed the interior and exterior design for the 4,500 sq ft home. Our Long Island studio used a bright, neutral palette to create a cohesive ambiance in this beautiful lower level designed for play and entertainment. We used wallpapers, tiles, rugs, wooden accents, soft furnishings, and creative lighting to make it a fun, livable, sophisticated entertainment space for the whole family. The multifunctional space has a golf simulator and pool table, a wine room and home bar, and televisions at every site line, making it THE favorite hangout spot in this home.

This cream and beige great room interior design in a Rancho Santa Fe home features natural fabrics, exposed beams, hand-selected accessories, custom lighting and fine furniture. Interior designer Susan Spath, Kern & Co.

Governed by a white and red theme, we used sophisticated modern furnishings to divide the room into separate areas. For the TV area, we used a big square tufted cushion sectional in red with throw pillows and complemented it with a similar patterned coffee table and a futuristic rocking chair in white. The other area, which is more suitable for conversations, features four round sofa chairs in white and a circular center table in wood. We made the room more interesting through abstract wall art and a poodle dog sculpture in silver.
