From the gabled silhouette to passive ventilation, the home captures the nostalgia for the past with the sustainable practices of the future. While the exterior materials contrast a calm, minimal palette with the sleek lines of the gabled silhouette, the interior spaces embody a playful, artistic spirit. From the hand painted De Gournay wallpaper in the master bath to the rugged texture of the over-grouted limestone and Portuguese cobblestones, the home is an experience that encapsulates the unexpected and the timeless.

This room was totally remodeled. The existing fireplace opening and plinth was faced with natural stone and wired to accept the TV. Installed custom angled wooden side cabinets for storage and media needs. Ceramic tile with underfloor heating throughout the basement. On the left side, was a simple storage closet which was totally transformed into a beautiful wine cellar with insulated glazing, cherry wood racks and shelving to display the wine. The original mid-century door was preserved and refinished in a natural tone to coordinate with the new natural flooring finish. All stain finishes were applied with water-based no VOC pet friendly products. Original railings were refinished and kept to maintain the authenticity of the Deck House style. The light fixture offers an immediate sculptural wow factor upon entering the home.

The soaring living room ceilings in this Omaha home showcase custom designed bookcases, while a comfortable modern sectional sofa provides ample space for seating. The expansive windows highlight the beautiful rolling hills and greenery of the exterior. The grid design of the large windows is repeated again in the coffered ceiling design. Wood look tile provides a durable surface for kids and pets and also allows for radiant heat flooring to be installed underneath the tile. The custom designed marble fireplace completes the sophisticated look.

A sense of craft, texture and color mark this living room. Charred cedar surrounds the blackened steel fireplace. Together they anchor the living room which otherwise is open to the views beyond.
