We hired LifeScape Designs to develop a plan for our outdoor remodeling project. This included hardscape (pavers for our front and interior areas), fencing and gates, a water feature, lighting, and landscaping. We had met with another designer who was going to charge about 4 times as much as LifeScape. We are SO glad we chose LifeScape. Throughout the entire process, Aaron Blubaugh--the owner and designer, was a pleasure to work with. We very much appreciated his honesty, "design eye", no-pressure approach, creativity, and passion. He worked within our budget, respecting that we really needed to stick with our limits. Besides designing the overall plan (which each subcontractor carefully followed), LifeScape also designed and built the most beautiful water feature and installed path and up lighting. They created a peaceful retreat with a calming water feature in which was once just a side yard. We had several discussions with Aaron throughout the project, sometimes wanting to make changes to the plan. Aaron was so great. If he thought the suggestion would be an enhancement, he told us. If he thought we were making a mistake, he respectfully explained why he thought it wouldn't work. What we found refreshing throughout the whole project was the high degree of professionalism and commitment to customer service and satisfaction from Aaron and his entire crew. Aaron only aligns himself with high quality subcontractors, so every recommendation ( I.e., paver contractor, fencing and gates) he made resulted in a high quality experience and product. His own crew that created the water feature was nothing short of awesome. Alongside Aaron, they built such a unique and beautiful water feature, carefully choosing rocks and designing the feature's path. We would quietly observe and marvel at the intense focus and passion all had on the design and building of the feature. All the workers on this project took such pride in their workmanship. My husband and I have a modern design aesthetic and it was hard to find landscape designers who really understood that. We talked to a lot of design firms and Aaron was the first person that immediately got our design sense and what we were trying to accomplish. His initial ideas when he walked through our barren backyard were fantastic and got us thinking about the layout in a way we hadn’t even considered before! We had a decent sized backyard that consisted of dead grass, a misshapen patio, and patches of broken concrete - it was an absolute eyesore. After Aaron and his team got done, it was nothing short of incredible! The process was very collaborative - we had lots of ideas but we knew some of them were just out of our price range but Aaron would take it and would either figure out a way to do it or come up with an alternative that accomplished what we needed but still stayed within our budget. My husband really wanted a steel pergola and we just assumed it was going to be too expensive but Aaron figured out how to do it! Aaron was also very flexible - when he realized that our yard had a dirt level that sloped up steeply in the back, he came up with a fantastic idea of building a bench around the plantings to avoid having to work against the landscape and now we love having extra seating around our bbq! We also have to give props to Laura - I was very picky about the types of plants I wanted and how they needed to be planted. Laura listened to me, understood what I wanted and she delivered. She also made sure all the finishing details on the final landscaping was done correctly and beautifully. Our backyard is a dream come true and I’m so happy that I found Aaron and Lifescape Designs on Houzz.

When we first met Aaron we were impressed by his ability to visualize what we wanted and communicate that to us. My wife and I interviewed Aaron after doing some research online, looking for ideas to renovate our back yard. We needed help figuring out if it was worthwhile and if the space was large enough to include a pool. I was very impressed by his ability to look at the area and come up with creative ideas that would work. Aaron was very clear and articulated his design thoughts extremely well. Aaron did not try to push a design that would not "match" the style of our home which we were concerned about. He was conscious of our taste, and confident that he could deliver a dream back yard on our budget. What Aaron designed is simply beautiful and we love it! My family and I are now enjoying a full living space which includes a pool and spa, fire pit, BBQ island and amazing landscaping and hardscape. Having worked with other contractors before, we know that the process can be very strenuous. This was not the case with Aaron and his team. Aaron Blubaugh of LifeScape Design did a fantastic job from beginning to end. During the design process Aaron first interviewed my wife and I for about four hours to understand our vision for our dream backyard. We gave Aaron full creative responsibility. Several weeks later he provided a hand sketched, color rendering. The design was was nothing short of spectacular. His cost estimate was right on target for a premium backyard. The big question was would the backyard actually come out as good as the rendering? I provided Aaron with some key requirements: 1) must have a high level quality, 2) stay on budget, 3) discuss issues and any budget changes with me when they first arise, 4) communicate status frequently, and 5) discuss the details of a given area or thing with us before he starts to ensure we are all on the same page and avoid rework. Now that it's all done I'm happy to say Aaron remembered and met each of my requirements. Aaron and his team started with a backyard of 100% dirt and weeds, then turned it into something you would enjoy at a high end resort. On a base of beautiful pavers surrounded by plants and trees Aaron built: 1) a professional kitchen and island with bar, 2) cabana with TV, fireplace and couches, 3) dining area with trellis cover, 4) fire pit with seating area (opposite side of cabana / fireplace), and finally 5) a beautiful pool with waterfalls, baja shelf and spa. If you looking for someone who really listens regarding your vision, cares about you and his results, has a significant amount of experience, knowledge & skill, has a great team of workers, and is someone you can depend on 100% then Aaron is your man. Those of you who are on Houzz searching for a solid pool contractor know that finding one is like trying to find the proverbial "Needle in a Haystack". Well, your search is over!! We have found that "Needle" in the form of Aaron Blubaugh and his incredible team at Lifescape Designs. From our very FIRST phone call, I knew he was the one who was going to help us design, build and make our dream "Oasis" a reality. Not only was it brought to life, but Lifescape Designs did so in tremendous proportion!! The Lifescape team has over 20 years of outdoor & pool design experience. Aaron made incredible suggestions based on that experience. He not only listened to us but he also respected our decisions for certain elements we had to have. Aaron made sure his team was on it from beginning to end. From demo to irrigation, to construction and finalization, there was literally not one stone left overturned. A crew of professional, courteous, respectful and integrity filled workers greeted us daily. In addition to building what we had laid out, Aaron added little signature touches with specialized custom lighting features, fire features and an entrance nothing shy of GRAND! From signing date to completion, the project took just around 4 months! Yes, you read that correctly, 4 months to tear up an entire yard, upgrade electrical and plumbing, build a completely customized pool with a raised built-in spa with spillways, an "L" shaped BBQ/Bar that seats 8 comfortably (complete with fire trough), incredible lighting and a firepit, etc. Not to mention the landscaping genius we aptly named "Laura the Landscaper", whose green thumb is second to none! When all was said and done, we were BEYOND THRILLED with our dream "Oasis". A friend recently asked if we could go back, what would we have done differently. Honestly, the only thing we would've done differently is hire Lifescape Designs sooner! We were recommended to Lifescape design company through a friend that had just finished remodeling and adding a pool backyard. Met the owner Aaron and re-designed our whole backyard into a dream backyard that my wife and I imagined. The entire staff and the subcontractors were very professional at all times, no mess, no waiting around, the whole projects was so carefully planned that came to life in 4 months as promised. Had both my front and backyard designed by Lifescape and we LOVE IT! I am in my backyard everyday hanging out with my kids on the bbq and fire ring. It has been about 3 months since the completion of the project and the plants are all thriving. I love pulling up to my driveway and seeing my front yard (the envy of my neighborhood) everyday. We are not rich people and we made quite an investment...and we do not regret it. So glad we chose Lifescape.

We hired Lifescape Designs to relandscape our front yard so that we can do our part to address the severe drought through water conservation efforts. Lifescape designed a plan that both met our objectives and was aesthetically pleasing.
