ACM Design

This review is way overdue! We partnered with Amy and the ACM Design Team to renovate Storybrooke Cottage. As background, as owners we have experience with construction and design as we each respectively are professionals in the interior design and real estate industry. We elected to interview architect/design professionals as we were seeking a partnership - we have experienced that excellent design outcomes come from extensive collaboration between owners, design team and eventually the GC. Although we came into the project with a fairly tight design vision - Amy and the ACM Team provided very good insight and ideas that enhanced our vision. We particularly appreciated Amy's approach the GC qualifying, bid, and selection process. Amy was an excellent partner and we are thrilled with the outcome - well done ACM Design Team.

The ACM Design team is one of the best that we have worked with; Amy and her team are creative, listen and understand client needs, and provide very accurate cost expectations. Amy was recommended by both previous clients and our builder. She has been supportive throughout the project and fielded questions from our communities Architectural Review Board. From previous experience we know that building long-distance can be a challenge. Amy and her team made the process easy.

We are baby boomers (1 couple and 1 single friend) who have decided to live together so we can all age in place. We needed 2 master bedrooms, and plenty of public space so we can all live comfortably and happily together. After interviewing a few architects to build our new home, we chose Amy for several reasons. Despite the fact that it took 2 years to relocate, retire and find an appropriate building lot, Amy never lost touch with me to see where we were with our relocation. When assessing what kind of home we wanted, we filled out a 14 page (YES! 14) questionnaire encompassing style to function, and everything in between. It forced us to think about how we were living, how we wanted to live, how our lives would be changing since we no longer work (Goodbye work wardrobes, hello mountain casual!). While it seemed a daunting exercise, it saved us time & money in the design phase. From there, ACM worked closely with us on a number of ideas for our home, always taking into account what WE wanted, and refining our ideas. Because the firm also does interiors, it's a one-stop shopping experience, too. Our furniture is being incorporated, repurposed, & reupholstered to go with the new house. There is no aspect of the interior that Amy & her talented team aren't attending to, with our blessing. Her taste level is exquisite, and again, she presents ideas to us based on what we currently own, how we live, and what we've indicated to her that we're interested in, along with anticipating possible future needs (like an elevator). She guided, she nudged, she revisited the plan until it became as perfect as it could be. The outcome will be a beautifully designed and appointed home that is distinctly ours. ACM is also there to interface between the home owner and builder. On-site meetings are held regularly with the builder to monitor progress and quality, and to answer any questions that may arise on the job-site. She's a superb go-between for the homeowner and builder. Much time is taken to explain and interpret building techniques & phrases with which lay people are unfamiliar. Never do we feel like we've been left blowing in the wind, and we always feel like we're getting a solid house that's better than we ever imagined. We could never, EVER have embarked on this project without ACM Design. NOTE: Our project won't be complete until August 2019. The menu here asking for completion date hasn't updated to anything after Dec. 2018.

Not only do Amy and her team at ACM Design produce beautiful home designs, but they make our lives as builders easier! ACM's building plans are very precise and detailed and communicate their designs in a clear and organized way. We have worked with ACM on multiple projects. Amy is a pleasure to work with, incredibly professional and we have had only good experiences working with her team. Amy and her team were the consummate professionals to have design our vacation/ future retirement home. My husband and I interviewed other architects but I knew instantly upon meeting Amy that she would be the right one for us! She was extremely thorough in asking us the right questions and most importantly listening to our answers. Together we designed a home that we are thrilled with and that is extremely warm and inviting. She is extremely attentive to details and has an incredible ability to create the right feel and flow to space. There are many architects who create beautiful buildings but Amy and her team really created a home. She helped with nearly all of our finishes and created wonderful palettes from which we could choose. Our project was done from a long distance away and Amy maximized our time together. Amy worked with my wife and me on multiple interior design challenges with our new home. We hired ACM for Interior Design guidance and we did so rather late in the build process. We were "dried in" when I approached Amy for help. Amy was terrific! She put together a proposal that met our specific needs. It was focused, practical, and allowed for immediate implementation. The results couldn't have been any better. Amy's process quickly locked on to what we wanted to accomplish. From there she and her staff put together some awesome ideas and product/color pallets that spoke our language. My wife and I are grateful that we involved ACM.
