Our project is a new custom residence with grading and utilities on AG-zoned land in San Luis Obispo county. We interviewed several architects and Alison made a great impression from our very first meeting. She listened intently, took many notes and photos, and conveyed a professional yet no-nonsense demeanor that we liked immediately. Her references confirmed our initial impressions and reinforced our convictions that she was the right architect for our project. Most importantly, Alison was able to assimilate our vague descriptions and disorganized inspiration images into an inspired design for our dream home! She made the most out of our requirements (2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, living and dining, incorporating the use of natural light and views). Alison nailed it right on the spot! It took only very few revisions, and we were done with the planning. Furthermore, she managed the communication with all necessary Engineering and County affairs to the point that we just had to sign and pay our dues. All the people she recommended to work with, including the builder we will finally go with, show the same level of excellence. I did the the structural engineering on a single story residence that was designed by Alison Edwards of Jade Architecture. The drawings she provided me were very detailed, clearly laid out and very easy to work from. Everything was well thought through which will surely lead to minimal questions in the filed and a streamlined construction timeline.

Jade Architecture provided design services and recommendations for a garage/studio project on my property. We met on site and evaluated the existing conditions to best accommodate the project. After the initial design, we modified the project to include additional features. The changes were made immediately and the plans returned for review. I was extremely impresses w/ the efficiency and timeliness to the plan development.

Alison is a great design professional. She is creative but also a good listener and very accepting of others opinions. She also is very organized and does a good job of keeping everyone on track and minimizing meetings and rehashing of topics. I contacted Alison in 2015 to design a garage/workshop addition for my new home. During my search for an architect, I especially liked Alison's credentials from Cal Poly and her practical background as a draftsperson. Alison visited my site and took down the details of what I wanted. She worked on the design and gave me several options for a fairly complex roof tie-in as well as other design considerations. I appreciated that she gave me the reasoning behind her recommendations so I could make informed decisions. Throuhout the process Alison respected timelines and kept me informed of progress. I am presently in the process of submitting plans to the city.

Alison, prinipal architect for Jade Architecture designed our new house currently under construction. After looking at our lot and meeting us briefly, she was easily able to capture our intended design concept. She also made many helpful suggestions during the design phase...was timely, efficient and cost effective.
