As a partner with the general contracting firm, The Salamander Co., in Taos, NM. I have had the pleasure of working with Alix and Dave and their team at Henry Architects on more than one occasion. Each time I have been impressed with their professionalism, and the inherent creativity and thoughtfulness in their plans. We have referred clients to them with confidence and shall continue to do so. Their approach to the work is at once intelligent and serious but also infused with humor and a bit of joy. One would do well to secure their services.

I hired Alix Henry to design my carport in Aug/Sept of 2014. Henry Architects did a beautiful job addressing all of my concerns, beautifully integrating its design with both the look and feel of the existing building, as well as with the landscape/surrounds. The roof line on that side of the house is quite complicated, requiring engineering which they skillfully handled. HA are not only mindful of aesthetics & form, they pay special attention to site, environmental and thermal factors, having done an excellent job addressing the demands relating to our harsh Northern New Mexico winter, snow load, and north-facing protection. As a graphic designer, I have a set of aesthetic needs that their non-designer clients might not, presenting HA with my thoughts and clippings of ideas from Dwell and other magazines online. They adeptly integrated my input with their excellent and thoughtful design suggestions coming up with a design I couldn’t be happier with. I wholeheartedly recommend Henry Architects. They are entirely professional and reliable, fair and open, helped me understand the process, and were present and ever available to check in with me as homeowner and the building contractor every step of the way. I am completely pleased with the result, am sure this gorgeous addition has added much value to my property, and receive many compliments from visiting family and friends. I would absolutely hire them again.

Very professional and efficient. Extremely knowledgeable of southwestern design and adobe construction. Easy to work with. Very willing to translate your personal preferences into a workable plan, rather than trying to superimpose their personal preferences. A great intermediary for dealing with the local government as well as knowing all the local contractors. I would never consider using anyone else.

Architect Alix Henry of Henry Architects was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and resourceful in transforming a bleak basic warehouse space into a magical, light filled studio space complete with kitchenette, full bath, and kiva fireplace. Many special features such as vintage doors, carved shutters, etc. were skillfully incorporated into the design. Thanks to Alix Henry, the studio space far exceeds my initial expectations, and was completed in a very professional, yet friendly and timely manner.

Henry Architects took the time to understand what we wanted in connection with a challenging home expansion and remodel project and then produced unique and insightful plans to accomplish our goals. I cannot speak highly enough about the skills, responsiveness and overall professionalism of Alix Henry and her team.
