Mike just finished the 3rd job for us. This time refinishing a badly worn and scarred floor in our new home and replacing thresholds at 3 patio doors. As with jobs he’s done previously for us, the result is impeccable, and it was completed start to finish in 2 days. I highly recommend him with no reservation whatsoever!

Mike did and excellent job resurfacing our hard wood floors. Our floors are over 100 years old and he had to patch several decades old holes where HVAC vents were moved. He did an incredible job matching the wood. He was communicative, punctual and most importantly the floors look 100X better.

We had a unique problem. We have alternating mahogany pieces mixed in with a maple floor in our kitchen. It's super cool looking, but when it was sanded after our kitchen remodel, the soft mahogany wore away much faster than the maple, creating a ripple effect on the floor. We were told by several other floor people that the mahogany pieces can't be removed and replaced. Enter Michael Altringer. Within a few days, the mahogany was removed and replaced with beautiful walnut pieces. I couldn't be happier with the finished product, and I thought the price was very reasonable. I would definitely use Altringer & Associates again.

I could not recommend Michael more for your next flooring project. My particular project consisted of installing new red oak in my dining room and kitchen area to match the existing red oak in the rest of the home. Once installed, Michael then sanded and stained the entire floor so it all matched. Prior to beginning this project, I had several professionals over to see my home and walk through the scope of work. Michael was by far the most knowledgeable and charismatic. He spent time answering all of my questions, walking me through every step, and explaining all of the reasons why his work would be different than others. I was very impressed with his visit and decided to choose Michael, which I am very grateful for. While the end result is absolutely stunning. That was of no surprise given all of his work to get there. Michael has such attention for detail, and bottom line, doing the job the right way. For example, Michael was able to locate red oak from the precise location that my existing red oak was from (some 70 years later). This achieved consistency throughout my floors. Next, he worked with me to make sure my home had the optimal conditions (Temperature, humidity levels, etc.). Lastly, he spent extra time helping my wife and I get that exact wood stain we were looking for. Never once did we feel rushed or hurried. My conclusion from my experience with Michael is that his work is outstanding. He never cuts corners, and you will be so thankful for that. Above everything else, he is a tremendous person that will truly care about you and your project.

Mike did an amazing job giving our old, orange and dated wood floors a face lift by "blonding" them to their natural color. They look spectacular! We are really enjoying them and the compliments we are getting on them. I also appreciate how respectful Mike was of our home, keeping it neat as possible. Most of all he was very kind to my little dog! We could not be more happy with the experience. Thanks Mike!

Michael Altringer did a fabulous job re-finishing our maple floors from a deep walnut color to a modern light white-washed finish. Michael uses the Pallmann method which produces a beautiful glowing matt finish. We love the new look and really appreciated his use of advanced technology dustless equipment. Then, to complete the new look, we had Michael install new clean-line, shaker style trim. He is the best finish carpenter we have ever worked with - joints are seamless and smooth. Working in a 70's house means nothing is straight and level, yet his creative solutions resulted in perfection! We plan to use Michael for all future finish carpentry work as we slowly and surely update our home interior. He is reliable, friendly and fun to work with (our dogs loved him!). We have absolutely no reservations in recommending him to any future customers.

We were looking for the right contractor to refinish our floors. Mike came highly recommended by a friend and he didn't disappoint! Our floors turned out better than we could ever have imagined. He was courteous when setting up an appointment, very timely on when he could come out and extremely reasonable on the pricing. What really impressed us is how he handled a situation that was completely unpredictable. We had an issue come up (that was on our end) that added another day and caused Mike to have to redo some of the work he had already done. Not only was he patient and kind handling the mishap but came back on a Holiday to ensure the job was done before an event we had planned! It was incredible customer service. Mike is the type of contractor that I would put my name behind and recommend out to anyone.... for both his quality of work and his professionalism!

Michael did an amazing job refinishing our pre-finished wood floors. He has his work cut out as they were beveled floor boards which required extra sanding. We had an idea of the color of the floor we wanted but didn’t know for sure until Michael applied samples to the floor. He was easy to work, explained the entire process and expectations as homeowners, kept the area as clean and dust free as possible, fair pricing and very personable. We highly recommend Michael for any wood flooring project!

Mike did a beautiful job, once again, refinishing our floors in 2020. We initially worked with Mike to replace the carpet in our living room and dining room with oak floor to match our kitchen. Mike not only made the new wood floor look like it had been there from the beginning; he worked with us to restain the original and improve the look of everything! We just got our NEW red oak wood floors installed. They look AMAZING! Mike did a great job and was easy to work with. He came up with some wonderful ideas that really improved the look of our floors. Things we would have never thought of. He went above and beyond our expectations. He is very professional, prompt and friendly. We would recommend Mike to anyone who is looking at getting new floors installed. Bella the pooch misses him too.

Mike may not be the cheapest bid you can get, we got lower. But he will be the most experienced. His knowledge of repair - we replaced some water damaged wood, and he took care to get matching replacement which cheaper providers said they couldn't necessarily match. His process - cheaper providers only pointed out wide spaces that needed filling, Mike skim-coated the whole floor. and sanded down through that. Resulting in a gorgeous perfectly flat nearly seamless floor. His knowledge of current finishes - what people are looking for today. That and that he is a pleasure to work with, makes his value for the price much higher. We couldn't be more pleased.

Mike put our floors in 17 years ago. They were amazing! He has refinished them twice and each time the floors looked as good as new! He is honest, thoughtful, knowledgeable, respectful and is a true artist and perfectionist when it comes to hardwood floors!!

Michael was great to work with. He repaired our red oak floor after water damage from a leaking dishwasher. It was a huge job to replace 80 sf of floor and then refinish 1400+ sf to match. He accommodated our schedule over two critical holidays and when we had to travel out of town for a funeral. He thoroughly explained the process and timelines so we knew what to expect. Our daily living was impacted to a minimum due to the quality products he uses for staining and finishing. I hired Michael for two flooring jobs; restaining the living room and putting new wood planks on our stairs. He did an excellent job on both! We ran into a couple of issues with the condition of the living room floor, but Michael was able to resolve the issue and we ended with a great product! Fourteen years after we first asked Altringer & Associates for an estimate, we finally hired him to install white oak floors on our main floor. While we considered others for the project, we chose Mike because he’s not just a flooring installer, he’s a craftsman. He pays close attention to details and goes the extra mile to make things right. Mike bent wood to wrap around a spiral staircase and created 1” parquet to match an existing 1960’s dining room. Mike was professional to work with and comfortable to have in our home. The dog misses him.

I hired Michael Altringer to resurface my entire first floor of my house (about 1,400sq). I wanted to keep the original oak but removed all carpeted area. He did a fantastic job matching the oak throughout my house! Michael does a very fine job, he is a true artist and takes pride on the finishing project.
