About Us

Anna Lisa Avelar specializes in light-filled interiors that are soft yet structured, with a feeling of earthiness. Quality materials and a high standard for craftsmanship are the crux of her design philosophy. With offices in Los Gatos, the firm works on projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and around the country. Anna Lisa Avelar has been an interior designer for over a decade. She's worked on everything from urban city loft remodels, new construction of single-family homes, estate compounds to commercial spaces. At the heart of her work is the idea that life has meaning because of connection. Her work cultivates connection through the creation of spaces that are supportive and uplifting. Anna Lisa has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Jose State University, a Master of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture and Design from the Academy of Art University, and has studied design in Italy, Portugal, France, and Spain. Travel remains a constant source of inspiration, especially to countries that have an earthy-indigenous feel, where she feels most in alignment with her creativity. In her free time, she can be found hiking and soaking in the California sunshine on trails throughout the bay area. She also works closely with Parti Program, a non-profit organization that helps students who are experiencing bullying by empowering them with skills and support.

Anna Lisa really listens to her clients and is able to create a vision from their wishes and dreams that she elevates with her highly developed design sense. She has a clean yet rich style that makes you want to enter a room and call it your own. As a landscape Architect I enjoy working with Anna Lisa and appreciate her design aesthetic and the details she comes up with to add to the landscape. I also enjoy how playful and fun she is to work with.

I feel so incredibly fortunate to have engaged Anna Lisa’s expertise in helping my husband and I create a new warm homey environment for our newly purchased “as is” home. From the very first day I met with Anna Lisa I found her so friendly and knowledgable in all aspects for our remodel that I felt comfortable throughout the process from beginning to the end. Anna Lisa brought forth many fabulous options for me to consider every step of the way keeping in mind what I had in mind while opening me up to fresh stylish ideas. Throughout the whole experience I could always count on her answering any silly question that I had with a smile on her face. Although the bulk of our remodel is complete I look forward to future collaborations with her and highly recommend her services. Anna Lisa is a delight to work with!

Anna Lisa has been great to work with over the past year or so. Her ability to take a very vague concept and streamline it in to this amazing vision was refreshing and easy to work with. She showed as much passion as I did in this project and was willing to do whatever it took to make sure each piece of this restaurant and lounge were aligned with the concept. Her ability to look work with a difficult space such as mine and make all the pieces of this project fall right in line was impressive and seamless.

Very knowledgable and kind designer. If she shows you something you can feel comfortable telling her no, its not your style. She just asks more questions and finds you the perfect thing. She will go with you to the stores and help you look and pick out materials such as tile and countertops. I'm very happy with the choices we made together for my remodel and addition.

I recently completed a whole house remodel and hired Anna Lisa to help with the design and décor. I highly recommend Anna Lisa, she was amazing to work with. Her eye for detail was exceptional. The best part was she saved us a lot of money in the long run. We had picked out some every expensive materials and she was able to work them all into the deign in small ways to keep us in budget. She really got to know my husband and I and was able to put our personality into the house. She also did a great job keeping in mind that we have young children and dogs. She helped us choose materials that would withstand the family and all the entertaining that we like to do. Pictures to follow soon.

I would highly recommend A.L. Interiors. Anna Lisa is a true professional. She is friendly passionate and dedicated to her profession. She completely redesigned my home in Carmel and the results were spectacular. She can look at a space and come up with unique designs that can transform the space in ways you never thought of. I do not give 5 stars freely, but A..L. Interiors has earned everyone one of the stars.

i have worked with Annalisa on several condo upgrades and designs over the past few years in San Francisco and Santana Row. She is fantastic and caters well to the style you are looking for. My spaces were very modern and she was very meticulous about finding the right finishes and furnishing to make it flow. She is very talented and is a real find in the design world.
