Stephanie did an outstanding job of consulting with us from beginning to end on our remodeling project. This was a big undertaking that took nearly a year from early planning to successful completion. Stephanie provided a myriad of design and outlay suggestions that fit our grand vision of what we were trying to achieve. Stephanie also provided critical support in coordinating with the many professional craftsmen and our general contractor during the construction process. Having her support allowed us to complete our project within the scope of our intended time line.. A true professional, we are grateful for all of Stephanie's help and support !

In the past, my wife and I worked directly with a general contractor for “refresh” projects in our homes—such as replacing cabinet doors, floor tiles, or fixtures. In those cases, the contractor typically handled most of the work personally and outsourced only a few tasks. While this approach worked reasonably well for minor projects, it was patently inadequate for a major renovation of the scale we hoped to undertake: A Complete Kitchen replacement (Cabinets, Countertops, Lighting, Appliances, Sink, Faucet, everything except the existing floor); Transforming a dark, outdated master bathroom into one with a Walk-in Shower, all new Fixtures, including a HiTech “Smart” Commode; Refinishing the 75 years old Hardwood Floors throughout the house. For a project of this complexity, we needed a professional who could take our conceptual ideas and translate them into a cohesive, executable design—complete with detailed specifications—While also selecting the materials, engaging skilled craftspeople and managing the schedule to ensure timely completion. The primary reason we selected Stephanie to design and oversee this extensive renovation was that she is not only an accomplished interior designer, but also an exceptional project manager. She excelled at sourcing and coordinating highly qualified craftspeople, quality materials and directing every component of the renovation through to completion. The trades consistently held her in high regard, both for her technical expertise—she was frequently consulted on-site for guidance—and for her unwavering commitment to keeping the project on schedule. Quite simply, we could not have accomplished this renovation without Stephanie’s inimitable expertise. I highly recommend her without reservation.

I've worked with Stephanie over the course of 20+ years. I've sought her advice on various interior design projects ranging from color selection, window and wall coverings, carpets, and furniture placement to custom furniture and home remodeling. I appreciate Stephanie's creativity, that she listens, is not ego-involved, and is organized and detail-oriented. She comes up with novel ideas and design options, all within the parameters of my style, from which I can choose. She has an excellent eye for color combinations, style, and scale. Most recently, I worked with Stephanie on remodeling two bathrooms. She provided names of suggested vendors I could use. In addition to helping me narrow down the options for everything needed to update the bathrooms, she coordinated and project-managed the people who set the tile and counters, built the cabinets, worked on the plumbing, electricity, and construction, hung the wallpaper, and painted. Along with all her other talents, I learned that Stephanie's project management skills are truly excellent as there was not one day of wasted down time. We were pleased with the quality of work and the work was completed on time (approx. 5 weeks). The contractors agreed that she stays on top of their tasks and keeps everyone moving along efficiently. Stephanie is the most outstanding design professional we have ever worked with. She is creative, efficient and always listens to our needs. We started working with Stephanie in 2015 for a complete remodel of our home in San Mateo, CA. The project was really incredible. We loved living there and her design made a huge positive impact when we decided to sell the property. Our first project with Stephanie at The Right Touch Designs was furnishing a 3200 square foot house. She got everything that we requested her help with just right. She respects and understands our personal style and worked to help us create a home that really feels like "us". We love living with the furnishings that she found for us and the look and mood that she helped create in our home. We are now working on our second project with Stephanie, remodeling our condominium. She is very good at listening to what we want in a project and responding with great ideas. After just one initial meeting she has already responded with ideas that fit what we asked for and ideas that are above and beyond what we had imagined. She has a great eye for design and color and is knowledgable about products and processes. She is also fun to work with. I recommend her 100%.

My project with The Right Touch was rather unusual. Create a Vintage Car Barn within a recently constructed large bare barn structure which would include up to 20 vehicles or varying size. There were no specific design constraints, but also there no prior vintage-car specific design planning. All of the design was created, curated, and implemented by The Right Touch Designs under the direction of Stephanie Batties. This was not only an unusual project, but an enormous project; The final result was so far beyond my expectations it is truly difficult to describe. Some of the internal details include extensive lighting treatments; work bench area; basic kitchen facilities; a seating area built around old refurbished auto car seats from a junk yard; dazzling custom black and white wall murals hand painted in black and white oil by a full-time team of local artists during the course of an entire summer. There is also a large loft area that includes an office space, extensive shelving for spare auto parts storage. Last but not least there is a full size drive in movie style theater with a very large retractable motorized movie screen, along with an unbelievable sound system. Outside is a large ivy covered retaining wall with many large vintage gas company signs mounted and fully visible from inside via a wall of glass windows. The ideas arose collaboratively coordinated by The Right Touch Designs group.

Our remodel is complete and it exceeded our expectations. Stephanie was instrumental for the project’s success. She not only helped with the basic architectural design and kitchen layout, but she helped us select colors and finish materials. Stephanie listened to our vision and then provided ideas, drawings and renderings to help us visualize how things might fit together and look when complete. She also provided suggestions and alternative ideas, and tactfully steered us away from making mistakes. We worked with Stephanie on and off for about 1 1/2 years to lock down a plan before we started the remodel. Stephanie is easy to work with providing as little or as much help as needed.

Stephanie’s ideas guided the renovation of the living/dining area, kitchen, and study of our apartment. She creatively solved some tricky design problems, while responding to our relatively traditional taste with innovative ideas. Her detailed renderings allowed us to visualize easily how a room would look and function. She found excellent specialist craftspeople, who delivered quality products on time. Her advice on countless details was faultless. We were very pleased with the process and results. Highly recommended.

Stephanie designed a 450 s.f. ADU for my back yard. Big pluses for: a design that is great to look at and ties together the ADU, my home and garage. It incorporates all the essentials for a workspace, a kitchen, a bath. a laundry, and ample storage. Entry to the ADU is completely private for the tenant and the design of the building offers complete privacy for my family's use of the back yard. I wanted a lot of light in the interior, and Stephanie provided the light by including clerestory windows and skylights, without any sacrifice of privacy for either the tenant or myself. Stephanie's understanding and working with all of the city's requirements(!) we're very important to the success of the project. As always she handled the project in a very professional manner and was always available for any last minute considerations. Needless to say, I am thrilled with the result!

The first time we remodeled we didn't hire Stephanie, and that was a BIG mistake. Over the years, we have worked with Stephanie on several projects (mostly to update and fix the mistakes made the first time around) including a dining room transformation, updating colors and furniture, window treatments, and more recently a "phase II" remodel turning our garage into an ADU. Stephanie takes the stress out of the whole process; she has creative ideas and suggestions and is a joy to work with. She is organized, efficient, and works within our budget. Thanks to Stephanie, our house is beautiful and functional -- perfect for our family and entertaining needs.

Stephanie has very good taste and her selection of the furniture and decorations for us is excellent. Also her service including furniture delivery and furniture installation is very good.

Stephanie worked on a renovation of our apartment. She designed the kitchen and the home office, planned extensive display shelves for art, suggested ways to update the bathrooms and a very traditional fireplace, guided our choice of flooring and paint so that the finished renovation realized our vision and reflected our taste and esthetic. She was easy to work with: she had good ideas, was flexible (and open to our suggestions), was an excellent communicator who answered emails promptly and who delivered plans and samples exactly on the promised date. Another plus was that Stephanie recommended very good contractors (eg., for flooring, cabinet maker) who were highly skilled, and reasonably priced. Stephanie has an excellent eye for detail and she makes the process of selection easy by bringing just a handful of samples from which you get to choose. If none appeal she brings another handful of samples. On three separate occasions, at my urging, Stephanie and I met together to make selections of major purchases (countertop, kitchen tiles and rugs). In each case, I had done major scouting out alternatives on my own and was just overwhelmed at the sheer number of alternatives. But when Stephanie and I were together, the decision making was easy and quick and I got exactly what I wanted. I also was reassured that the choice we made would work with everything else we had chosen. In sum, the project was really successful because of Stephanie.
