An absolute terrible experience. Delays, broken cabinets upon delivery, poor workmanship in carpentry and electric. Floor not level which made for excessive shimming of cabinetry and appliances. Dishwasher installed with packing still in unit. Stove cannot fit properly in place -- Cambria counter top cut too large meaning slide-in stove sticks out far beyond lower cabinets. Subway tile not straight over stove. Electricians unable to wire lighting in kitchen and breakfast area. Husband had to wire properly.

Julie of Baum House Design is the best. She worked with my decorator for a joint sunroom-bar area remodel, and the results were fantastic! Things were done in a timely, professional manner.

My husband and I intended to remodel our home soon after we moved in. After 14 years of many life changes; life abroad, work, college, weddings, etc., we got it done. We had many architectural drawings over the years, even considered tearing the house down. Then, we found Baum House Design and, Julie. We hired Julie for a kitchen, powder room, master bath remodel on our newly purchased 25 yr old villa. Julie had done a kitchen remodel for us 10 years ago, which we loved, so she was the perfect choice to work her magic again! Julie is so easy to work with. Not only is she creative, but she really listens to her clients. She is always punctual, very patient and you know that she is on top of things with your project. We interviewed Chelsea Smith of BaumHouse Design for a Master bathroom project. We had already received one design proposal from a reputable group, which was uninspired and mass produced. In contrast, Chelsea’s design was smart, creative and forward-thinking. Her presentation was so compelling that we had a small epiphany. We decided to abandon the high end bathroom remodel and ask Chelsea to breathe new life into the main living areas of our house. My husband and I have disparate styles and we have managed that dichotomy by doing nothing with our home. However, after listening to Chelsea’s bathroom presentation we thought she was someone that we could both trust and work well with. Chelsea asked each of us lots of questions about what we did/didn't like, colors that appeal to us, and thoughts about how we would like to use each room. We were always excited and impressed by her thoughtful presentations. She put a lot of time and effort into showing us exactly what the proposed changes would look like; we didn't have to use our imagination. This was in sharp contrast to other design firms I had interviewed. One well known firm showed me 3 sketches on graph paper, estimated the project at $60,000 and wanted several thousand to flesh out the idea beyond crude sketches. We divided our project into 3 phases at her suggestion. As we neared the end of Phase 1, we elected to proceed directly into Phase 2 because we were so thrilled with the transformation in Phase 1. Chelsea previewed and then presented us with a number of options for each element of the Design which made decision making very easy. When the occasional glitch came up, she always identified the problem before we did and took responsibility for interfacing with the Vendor or Contractor to get products and services that met our expectations. We love our like-new home and are enjoying using rooms we never frequented before the project. We have thoroughly enjoyed the process as well as the final outcomes of all that we have done. I would recommend Chelsea Smith and BaumHouse design without reservation.

I originally worked with Julie on my kitchen remodel in 2012. Originally we did not want to change the footprint of our kitchen, just wanted to update cabinets and counter tops. Julie provided us with that estimate and also an optional plan that was similar in price, but added a great deal of storage and a better design at minimal extra cost. She went the extra mile in all ways. When one of the cabinets was delivered with a scratch, it was promptly replaced. I love the kitchen and we get so many compliments! In 2014 when I decided to update the look of my adjacent family room to the level of the kitchen, I contacted Julie and was pleased to learn that she had recently hired Chelsea. Working with Chelsea and Julie was so much fun! The gently urged my husband out of his comfort zone with color and their help with furniture, fabric and décor was invaluable. Pat is very skilled and easy to work with - he was very accommodating in making small changes and was dependable in scheduling the project. I highly recommend them and can't wait for my next home project to work with them again (powder room/laundry?).

Julie Baum came highly recommended to us by friends who had her design their kitchen. After seeing their kitchen we knew Julie was the right person for our project. She initially visited our home to discuss what ideas we had for a complete remodel and took measurements to develop a plan for us. Her office/showroom displays gave us additional ideas that she discussed with us before presenting her design plan. She patiently listened to us, understanding our needs, wants, style and of course budget. Her recommended a local appliance dealer that we visited and found easy to work with and stay on budget. Her design plan was unique due to the space limitations of our kitchen/dining area. She shopped lighting companies and presented lighting fixtures for us to choose from which helped eliminate the overwhelming task of looking at an ocean of light fixtures at the store. Cabinets, countertops, tile, furniture and paint choices, etc. were made easier through her efforts to coordinate our tastes with her design. We knew up front the time line for the project. Julie was highly visible during the project with frequent visits to the work sight and communicated with us regularly. With Julie being the designer and general contractor, the project was a seamless transition when working with her craftsman Pat Gutting. It was a pleasure to have Pat and his crew working in our home. Pat solved construction problems with patience and innovative ideas. He and his crew members have a great work ethic.

We hired BaumHouse Design at the recommendation of our contractor for a complete kitchen remodel. After Julie Baum visited with us and took measurements she provided detailed plans. She took into consideration our wants and needs, style and budget. She had a great design. Her office/studio had a great selection of products to choose from and the process went smoothly. After construction began, she was there every step of the way with updates on when items would be shipped and worked well with our contractor to keep everything running smoothly. Being without a kitchen is never a painless process but any minor issues were dealt with quickly and professionally. Every morning I walk into my kitchen and love everything about it. I would definitely choose BaumHouse Design for other projects.

Julie did a wonderful job with the design of our two bathrooms. She is patient and respectful of our needs and budget. Pat, her craftsman, is truly skilled and very trust worthy. He takes his time and thinks through the process before going downot the wrongame path. Excellent overall job. In fact, we just signed them to do our question.

BaumHouse provided a complete kitchen redesign from demolition and removal to complete renovation and installation. Chelsea had some great ideas and always strived to understand what was important to me, functionally as well as aesthetically. We shopped together for appliances, tile, countertop, cabinet and appliance handles, etc. She suggested lighting options that were outstanding. When she knew what direction I wanted to go she searched high and low to find compatible options. When I tired of making some decisions she made them for me based on my parameters and it has resulted in the absolutely stunning kitchen of my dreams (while remaining a practical useful kitchen for me and my grandchildren). My home backs to woods and she suggested windows to the countertop. Every time my family walks into the room we feel like we are part of nature and we love it! The entire project was well managed and Chelsea as well as the management of BaumHouse reviewed each step of the way to ensure that everything was completed correctly.

We did renovations to our master bathroom and kitchen. Both were done in high quality. Julie was very responsive and when changes or questions arose (as they will do), she was always there to discuss, and find a solution that was acceptable. She made good suggestions while allowing our style to come through. The work was done with no problems and she kept us apprised of the progress as the project moved. Very well done.
