Nate Baudo

Nate completely remodeled inside and out our 50 year old cabin we purchased in Alto. The house was taken down the studs, with all new windows, doors, electrical, plumbing, floors, appliances, ducts, and cabinets. His crew took out a wall in the kitchen and added a 3rd bathroom. The only equipment not replaced was the breaker box and and the actual hvac unit. He also replaced the 3 decks with composite decking and metal railing. His workmanship was excellent. He did the majority of the work during Covid, so he had to empty the house into storage units and worked with us and kept us apprised weekly with picture updates. Could not be more pleased with his work and professionalism.

I purchased a spec home (cabin) Nate Baudo built (finished in April 2021). I feel like it was built well, and I have had no builder-related issues in the first year of living in the home. I had a year warranty, and I am confident Nate would have made good on any builder-related issues I found, if I had found any. I love the home I bought and am completely satisfied with it. One reason I chose a home built by Nate Baudo was because I had very good friends that bought a new home from him several years ago. I loved their house, and he was recommended highly to me by them.

Nate Baudo did an excellent job for us. He helped us achieve the mountain style home we desired. His attention to detail and good advice helped us to get what we wanted.

We stumbled on Nate Baudo (Baudo Builds) by accident when we dropped by a home under construction. As my family and I stepped into the home, I asked one of the works if the general contractor was available. The response, "he's busy right now, but you are welcome to look around." After a few minutes, the person who was installing the backsplash walked over to greet us, and low & behold it was Nate, the general contractor. A GC that actually works on the project and doesn't turn everything over to subs!!! We told Nate we have a lot and would he be interested in taking a look at it. His response was yes. So we drove a short distance to take a look. Our lot is on the side of a mountain that provides outstanding views of Sierra Blanca and the surrounding valley, but as you might imagine, it came with challenges due to steepness of the land. Nate's first impression was the initial challenge of preparing the land for the build....clearing, building footings and the massive retaining walls along with the expense this would add to our build cost. So that is how our relationship began. We provided Nate drawings of what we wanted and he sent them to his designer for slight modifications, and then we were on our way, that is after city and HOA approvals. The actual building process took about 14 months (May 2016 through June 2017). We talked back and forth to get things just right, but as with any build there are going to be hiccups along the way. We worked through these, mainly a balance between my desire for a cabin feel, but not going overboard with too much wood where you might feel overwhelmed. In the end, our home captures the look we were going for and as you can see from the pictures, the results are fantastic. The tongue & groove is complimented by the wood trim, the wood flooring and warm colors along with the stacked stone fireplace and stone on the kitchen island all help give the warm cozy feeling we were looking for. We ended up going over budget by about 17% and the bulk of that was in the upgrades we selected (Instant hot water, reverse osmosis, spray foam insulation, Trey decking, T&G etc...) which are all decisionss we feel will do two things, 1) make our cabin more enjoyable 2) bring value to the cabin at resale. Overall we are very happy with the results. We are in the process of going through the little touch up items and there are a couple of things we identified that need attention. Things you don't recognize until you stay a few times. Nate has reminded me of the warranty and that if there are build issues that arise he will correct at to no cost to me, which is comforting. Would we build from scratch again or buy a home already constructed? I'm not sure, mainly because of the time involved. In a custom build you get what you, but it's at the expense of buying something completed and moving in right away in order to enjoy immediately. Would I buy a Baudo Builds home, absolutely. Nathan Baudo exceeded all of our expectations on our vacation home renovation. The quality of his work was outstanding and the professionalism was top notch. I heard of Nathan Baudo long before I met him. Various people raved about his work when we began looking for someone to remodel our kitchen. In our search we called several contractors. Only a few of them responded. Two contractors came to talk to us and never called back with an estimate or a plan. However, when we called Nate, he responded immediately and set up a time to meet. He, unlike the other two, took his time and suggested ideas we had not thought of. Nate listened to us and developed our ideas. Not only did he have excellent ideas, he found ways to save us money. Nate is professional and trustworthy. We trusted him so much that we left on a vacation while he renovated. He did not disappoint. Nate’s attention to detail; his talent; and his care for us as his clients added up to a beautiful renovation. Nate Baudo is unique in this field. I would highly recommend Nate Baudo to anyone looking to remodel or to build a home. He has done both a remodel and a new build for us each of which exceeded our expectations in quality of work and the ease of working with Nate. On both the remodel and the new build we were living in Japan while each was being done so we were not there while the work was being done. We corresponded with Nate via phone or email over the entire length of each project and everything was done as requested. Additionally the suggestions Nate made were spot on. He really is a true professional.

We never envisioned the full extent of the work that was needed on our 100+ year old colonial house. Baudo worked for over a year on an extensive renovation. HIs vision resulting in a very beautiful, and charming house. Baudo's attention to detail and diligence were excellent. We asked Nate Baudo to do a major renovation to our summer home on the Cape. Nate significantly exceeded our expectations. Nate built us a home.
