We used Bearmark Design & Landscape for a complete renovation of our backyard in April, 2020 and we were extremely pleased with final results. The project included a complete landscape design, regrading of the site, perimeter fencing, putting green as well as installation of both hardscape and landscape elements. We really appreciated their professionalism during the design and construction phase and their ability to provide elegant but economical suggestions, His onsite team was very efficient and professional. I would highly recommend Brian and his team for any project, big or small.

We were very pleased with the level of service and installation of our landscape renovation to both our front and backyards. We have terraces making our property difficult to access. Bearmark was able to designate an access route and replace our crumbling retaining walls, redesigning our landscaping to enhance its natural features.

We were introduced to Brian and Bearmark Design from a friend who is a landscape architect. We had a number of small landscaping projects which added up to a large project. (at least for us) We actually had chosen another firm to do our project but after having some challenges in getting a plan which reflected our taste as well as a high quote we decided to shop around. Brian was very insightful as to our needs and kept in mind our taste and had great suggestions in terms of plantings, safety for our toddler, and some modifications to our design. The plan was within our budget and the work was on time. The Bearmark team was extremely professional and courteous and did a fantastic job on our project. They also came back to replace some plants that failed to grow properly. We have had quite a bit of work on our older house recently and Bearmark was easily the best to work with. .

Bearmark was responsible for the design and execution of a plan to transform our largely unusable back yard into a space where we would want to relax and entertain. Our experience with Bearmark could not have been better. Brian Beresford listened to our interests and priorities, and through an iterative process he developed a design that provided exactly what we were looking for. The construction phase was equally satisfying. It entailed: excavating and leveling much of the back yard; removing an old fence, paving stones, pressure treated timber retaining walls, steps and plants. A poured concrete retaining wall and concrete steps were installed, low basalt retaining walls were put in place, a new patio was laid out, a new fence was constructed and new landscaping was provided. All of this work was done very professionally. Communication was excellent throughout. Brian's crews were exemplary. To a person they were hard workers, reliable, polite and intent on providing what we were looking for. The work site was cleaned up very well at the end of each day. When the unexpected arose, solutions to problems were found quickly and painlessly. Based on our experience we would not hesitate to recommend Bearmark Design and Landscape.

Brian and the team at Bearmark recently completed our front yard transformation. It was a very straight forward and collaborative process throughout the project. We kicked off the project while we were in Australia and Brian and the team worked quickly with us to understand our needs and style. We leveraged Houzz images to outline our vision. The guys did a great job interpreting and delivering a result that was better than we expected. The guys were onsite consistently. They worked professionally and efficiently. They were meticulous and paid attention to detail through the project. In the end the project delivered a week later than expected, but it was on an extremely tight timeline to begin with and with little advanced notice. I couldn't have asked for anything more in terms of turn-around time. The team went out of their way and stayed late on a Friday to complete one part of the project so we could enjoy the space as a family over the weekend. As the project became a bit tight to the budget, Brian was highly communicative and agile to help us keep the project on track and closer to our original plan. We will definitely work with Bearmark again in the future.

I received a consultation in fall of 2015 which went really well and I was excited to move forward with the design process. After not hearing from them for weeks, I contacted them only to be (rather abruptly) told design work was on the back burner because active projects took priority. I would have appreciated being told this up front and I would have hired a different landscape designer. After resuming our project early this year, I again contacted them to specifically ask if they had availability for spring, and this time I didn't even receive the courtesy of an e-mail response, I was completely ignored. This lack of professionalism when dealing with potential clients left a very bad impression. I am happy for Bearmark that they're so busy there's no time to respond to e-mails, but at least have an auto reply so as not to seem so unprofessional.

We take great pride in dealing with all our clients, or potential clients, with the utmost care and attention. I am very sorry, on my part, with our disconnect with you throughout your project.

Yes, we are busy, but that is never an excuse to disregard any of our clients as I do my best to ensure all our projects are well looked after.

Bearmark Design & Landscape did some landscaping for me in two phases… we did the front yard first which involved tearing up a crescent shaped driveway and replacing with a parking pad and some stairs/path, lawn, beds, etc… second phase was around the side and backyard… replaced another driveway, did a new lawn & beds and coordinated other contractors for a pool/deck installation. Generally speaking I found their process to be excellent. The principal at Bearmark, Brian Beresford, consulted with my wife and I, which was followed by plan review (Brian's drawings are excellent!), and implementation followed shortly after. He is a good communicator, which is really important to me, as I have had many contractors disappear at critical times or not deliver on what was discussed. Bearmark is not the cheapest (you can always find somebody to do things more cheaply), but they were competitive on price, and in terms of value for dollar I would rate them extremely well. Overall, Bearmark’s service is excellent and quality of work is very good.

Bearmark is knowledgeable about hard and soft landscaping. The company designed hard and soft landscapes on a half-acre lot, made a lighting plan for landscape and integrated lighting including about 30 lights, supervised landscape grading, sourced and then installed all trees and plants. We found the company easy to communicate with, responsive to our needs, and fairly timely in their work. The company was at its best in the overall design, as well as the sourcing of plants. Billing was accurate and good value. We were also very impressed with how well Bearmark worked with our contractor and others.

A fantastic experience right from the moment we met. Brian, the owner, was attentive and respectful to my input and expectations of my project. Bearmark’s web site gave me realistic expectation of their skill set and I was provided with professional drawings that gave me a visual of the job before it started. Bearmark took a hill of dirt & rocks and turned it into a stunning front yard with a warm and welcoming entrance to my house. Budgeting was quite accurate and we discussed any “extras” prior to the work being completed. As in any project, an unexpected problem did arise but, it was taken care of immediately and within the extra cost quoted. I very highly recommended Bearmark Design and Landscape

We hired Bearmark Design and Landscape to completely renovate our back garden. Brian Beresford and his team were a pleasure to work with. This was a total demolition and rebuild from the ground up, literally. We had old diseased trees removed, regrading, irrigation, flower bed construction, patio installation, all planting and new turf installed. The team was punctual, extremely friendly, efficient and very hard working. Their work ethic was impressive, especially in the hot conditions that they worked! We never heard a raised voice or a swear word. Brian was available for questions, was very knowledgable and easy to work with. He listened carefully to what we wanted, offered suggestions and produced a lovely garden that we are thrilled with. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

Bearmark was referred to us by a friend, who had recently used Bearmark for their home and yard renovation. We connected Bearmark to our contractor (who has subsequently used Bearmark for many other projects) and they worked seamlessly together. We have been completely satisfied with Brian and his team. Due to the difficult grading on our lot, they faced many technical obstacles and always found the answers. We found them to be on time, accommodating, conscience of cost, and highly knowledgeable. We had a custom home built during 2013 and near the end of construction, we were introduced through our builder, to Brian Beresford of Bearmark Design. He helped us with many deisions and planning of our property. Due to having a water run off "creek" on the property, we were obligated by the district to remove the concrete lined creek area, and had very specific replacement requirements, with only native plants within the setback. Brian and his crew did a beautiful job on the side yard and creek, dealt directly with the district, and was very helpful, knowlegable and accommodating with regards to the overall landscaping scope. Brian was always prompt to return calls or come to the house if we wanted further conversations. We would not hesitate to recommend Bearmark Design or use Brian again on future projects. Thanks Brian, see you on our next build!
