We hired B. Gordon Builders about 15 years ago to build a fairly large complex deck off the front of our home. He was fairly new in his business venture, but he was professional with a good crew and tackled most small issues and resolved them. We were very happy with his work and recommended him to other clients. However, last year we noticed one corner of the deck is now sagging and in need of rework and/or repair, possibly due to a design issue (an architect did the design) and less likely a "build" or artistry issue. I tried to reach Brian by phone, leaving a few messages that he did not return. I finally reached him live one morning, explained the issue, and we set a firm date & time for him to look at our concerns. I mentioned that it was not a warranty issue, and we would pay for the rework/repair. His tone of voice on the call was not the most positive. Brian never showed for the appointment nor called to reschedule. It seems he did not intend to support a past customer. And I feel he acted in a very unprofessional manner. I was 'extremely' disappointed, even though his website mentioned he supports his customers and stands behind his work...which of course he did not in our case. I rarely write reviews, but in this case my disappointment was justified, as I would have preferred the original builder to complete the paid-for repair work.

I would give B. Gordon Builders an A+++! Bryan and his crew are extremely professional and always go that extra mile to make sure the client is well taken care of. We have had BGB build us multiple pergolas at two different houses and we are always very happy with the end results. I would definitely hire Bryan and his company again. They always come in with a great attitude and a great price!

Bryan and his team were amazing to work with from the very beginning. Bryan came in and helped with design, gave us a fair price, and his team was efficient and did high quality work throughout the process. They built a covered pavilion attached to our house that really completes our home and it was everything we could have wanted and more. Bryan is also very responsive- which is really rare for a contractor as you probably know. I would highly recommend Bryan and his team to anyone that is looking to do build an outdoor structure!

We hired Bryan and his crew to build a covered pavilion for dining with built-in grilling area and bar, and to extend an existing loggia (outdoor living room) that was attached to the house and replace the existing cabinets and fireplace. Our yard now looks like the cover of Sunset Magazine. We can't get over how beautiful it is. We recommend B. Gordon Builders without reservation -- from start to finish, Bryan's team provided top quality work. It's inevitable that something in every project goes wrong, and when it happened in our project (with a third-party vendor), Bryan and his team went above and beyond to make sure the problem was rectified. I never had to beg or bargain or threaten or wheedle -- just send a picture of the problem, and BOOM! A phone call and a solution. And once, as Bryan came through to check on his crew's work, he noticed something that he thought hadn't been completed to his satisfaction (something my husband and I never would have noticed) and he had his guys come back to re-do it at his own expense. Seriously, these are the greatest guys to work with. I also really loved Darren Lisle, the construction manager for our project. He stayed in close touch with me almost daily about progress on our project, and was terrific with communication and follow-through. The crew that was here day in and day out doing the heavy labor were all lovely -- hard workers and super friendly. And their foreman, Tim, was highly responsive and great with communication, too. FIVE STARS FOR ALL OF THEM! We would hire them again in a heartbeat. Quality work, no excuses, just great work. And worth every single penny.

Brian Gordon built a large, high deck at our home. He provided design guidance , was mindful of current laws and requirements, and executed a beautiful, quality product. His crew always cleaned up and secured the area after every days work. The project was completed on time, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the final result. Nearly 3 years later, the deck is still like brand new and receives compliments from anyone who sees it.

Sure, you can hire just any old contractor to build you an arbor or a deck - and that's what you'll get. But when you hire a contractor that only focus on one and only one business every day - building outdoor structures - you get the best. Their entire career is focused on these unique constructs and so they are very efficient, expert and master craftsmen. I have not only purchased BGB products and services - but I have recommended them to friends all over the area and without exception, they know that they are doing. Simply the best. Sure, you'll pay a few bucks more but it's your home and if you want something to last, you have to pay for it. If you're the cheap type, looking for the lowest bid, hire someone else as BGB will not be a fit for you.
