From our rough ideas, Bill had the vision and craftsmanship to completely transform a worn and dated 80’s house into a stunning new home that is beautiful and functional. No corners were cut on our extensive renovation, and when the inevitable unforeseen problems cropped up Bill had the skill and took the time to correct thorny issues thoroughly and with an eye to the years ahead. Throughout the complete process, the contractor maintained an excellent flow of work and balance between the sub-contractors schedules and our completion date. Project review entailed our expectations and an excellent exchange of ideas concerning design, materials, and timing. Costs were reasonable. Highly recommended.

We hired Bill Hughes and Blue Ridge Custom Builders at a very busy time in the home construction market in a location where contractor choices were limited. We hired Blue Ridge to construct an addition to our mountain cabin that almost doubled the size of our home. We hired them primarily on the basis of "gut" feel (after getting to know Bill), but also at the recommendation of our architect who was impressed with their portfolio of work and understanding/interpretation of his plans. We negotiated a price that our architect confirmed was reasonable and we never had any disputes about what was included and what was not. We had a family reunion soon after completion of the expansion and two separate comments from family members said it all. One was "they did a great job tying the addition into the original home. It all looks like original construction." The second comment summed everything up in one word: "Stunning!" We loved our original cabin but now we feel like we have our dream home!

We were happy with the results of our recent bath/kitchen renovations done by Blue Ridge Custom Builders. Labor and materials were all quality from design and installation, to finished product. Contractors arrived when scheduled and on time. Cleaned up every day before leaving and left the existing structure undamaged. There was no need for additional work to repair damages. They were attentive to detail and weren't put out if we saw something we didn't like and wanted changed or revised the design mid project.
