Outstanding, high quality craftsmanship and most important, honest. Bill Hoke and his team at Deerpath are a pleasure to work and truly care about their customers. They recently completed the first phase of the facelift of our house, starting with a multi-tiered stone walkway and front stairs project. They bring ideas and trade craft expertise, all the while ensuring as the customer we were completely satisfied.

I’m 75% of the way through my project, so will update when complete, but felt compelled to write this review given the extremely positive experience I am having with Deerpath, and specifically Bill Hoke, the owner. The project involves finishing my basement to effectively add an entire floor of living and entertaining space (about 1600 square feet) including a bar, wine wall, pool table room and A/V area. Importantly, to make the basement feel, well, not like a basement, Deerpath is performing some major structural changes - removing columns and adding steel to create an open floor plan, moving HVAC and hot water, etc. I’ll start by admitting I am an extraordinarily discerning consumer. I demand straight lines, 90 degree corners, symmetry, detail and precision. I also am very hands on and want to ensure my opinions, modifications and perspectives are included in the end result. In general, I hold everyone I hire to extremely high standards. In those regards, Bill and his guys (primarily Nelson and Jimmy) have absolutely exceeded my expectations. From the start, Bill worked with my wife and I to develop a floor plan and layout that met our exacting standards. Additionally, his “vision” for what the space should be and how it should flow has proven invaluable. As an example, I pushed him very hard on the ceiling design, understanding there are give and takes in working around certain structural elements. My initial thought was to maximize ceiling height by “chopping up” the ceiling into small areas. Bill listened to my input, but ultimately convinced me the better approach was to create the perception of a few “rooms” by losing a little height in favor of consistency. He was spot on. While those seeing the finished product won’t notice the massive amount of work and design required to get HVAC and structural elements in the right aesthetic location, the thoughtfulness that went into those decisions is highly impactful. As it relates to work quality, it is superb. Nelson and Jimmy (his 2 primary tradesmen) are patient, careful and detailed. The crown molding they designed is world class and installation is flawless. Same goes for the bathroom, barn doors, etc. Of course, with any project of this size small issues do arise, but they have all been addressed very quickly and to my satisfaction. Overall, A-rated for sure. Looking forward to the finished product!

As a subcontractor, I worked with Bill Hoke on a complex Fireplace installation. I found Bill to be a consummate professional, as we worked together to overcome a host of obstacles ensuring all code and safety guidelines were met. The project was completed on schedule, on budget and resulted in a very satisfied customer. I look forward to working with Bill in the future.
