We bought our first house in November 2017 and decided to remodel the main floor before moving in, which was a pretty scary prospect (first house! first remodel!). We found Matt on Houzz and were really impressed with his Oakridge Trail project. When we met with him about a week after reaching out to him, we were sold when 1) he showed up to our walkthrough 10 minutes early and 2) talked us down from some whacky, expensive, impractical remodel ideas. We had heard some really scary stories about other contractors and remodels, but working with Matt was super easy and as stress-free as the process could be. He was always responsive to emails/texts/calls and answered our anxious first-time homeowner/remodeler questions patiently. It really puts your mind at ease when have a contractor you can trust. In addition to Matt's meticiulous attention to detail and do-it-right-ness, he has a really great team (cabinets, millwork, floors, tile, painters, central vacuum, electrical, you name it). It was actually really fun to pick out fixtures with Jennie at StudioH2O and cabinet details with Haylee at Finishing Touch. We couldn't be happier with our results. We LOVE our house now. We went from a golden oak bonanza to the light, airy, modern home of our dreams. I'm already plotting for our next remodel (still have the 2nd floor bathrooms and the utility area left) and will certainly be planning to work with Matt again.

Matt is a master craftsman that I entrust my clients with to provide high quality and affordable work. We hired Boileau Construction to create a mudroom in an odd space in our older home. One of my friends is an electrician and has worked with Matt before. He recommended him to install my cabinets and the tile in the shower. I trusted him to install $25000 worth of cabinets and couldn't be more satisfied. I have been told frameless cabinets are difficult to install, but he had no problem. The work in the shower was also very detailed and surpassed my expectations. Matt is a perfectionist and it shows in his work.

I hired Boileau Construction for several projects on my home. They sided and re-shingled my home. They also replaced all the windows in my home. Matt was very professional, dependable and hardworking. He pays very close attention to detail and offered many ideas on how to improve my home. He does high quality work and his prices are very comparable to other places. I am very happy with the great results and everything is installed properly and I have not had any issues after 5 years. My husband and I recently moved into our home built by Boileau Construction, and we cannot be happier. My husband is extremely particular about craftsmanship and what many people call, "the bones" of the house. In looking for our home, he wanted something solid, original, and well-crafted, all of which are rare, I think, in new construction homes. For this reason, we had seriously considered the much older houses in Iowa City, thinking that at the least, we'd be buying something with a strong foundation. But then by chance, we found our home listed online, and although pleased with what we saw in the photographs, I don't think we fully understood just how beautifully crafted it truly is until we saw it "live." Indeed the photos online did not do the house justice. But once we got here and saw it, it did not take long for us to "just know" that this was the house for us. Although it is much more spacious than our previous house, it did not feel overwhelming or wasteful or pretentious, which was very important to us. Every single room in the house has a function, meaning that it's not just there as a vanity space for decoration or for show. From the mudroom and the lockers, to the dining room to the living room, to the KITCHEN (oh my goodness, the KITCHEN!!! is gorgeous) to the master bedroom and bathrooms, to the laundry room and so on. We use every single room in this house. I mean, Matt really thought everything out when he built this house. He also did the tiling himself, which we love that he did, because often times, builders contract these things out (because they either don't know how to do it, or they just don't want to commit that kind of time and care to it). This known fact is something we respect very much about Matt, because it speaks to the level of pride and care and craftsmanship that he devoted into this construction. In fact, if we could just say one thing about our house, it's the fact that we know the builder himself actually had a strong hand in its construction, and that alone, really means a lot to us. My husband does a lot of woodwork and carpentry of his own. He likes to take his time and truly attend to each piece with care and patience. And while I am no craftsman, I appreciate art and understand the level of time and devotion that goes into a piece of artwork. Both my husband and I respect people who have passion for the things they build, and it is with no doubt that our house was sculpted with pride. It is truly a work of art. Thank you, Matt!

I hired Boileau Construction to finish out my basement. This job entitled demo of an old room and the framing out and finishing of a half bathroom, dry bar and family room. I hired Matt becasue of his reputation of doing outstanding work and coming in on time and on budget. Matt and his crew exceeded all of my expeditions and then some. They were courteous and respectful of my family at all times. The work was done fast and done right. In 2013, we hired Boileau Construction to help us remodel a building for our new business. Given that we would be operating from the building during the construction process we knew the remodel would be a challenge for whoever did the work. We hired Boileau Construction due to the company's strong reputation in the market for doing quality work and getting projects done on time and on budget. Matt Boileau and his team did not disappoint. They were true professionals. The completed the project on time and on budget and, most importantly, the did excellent work. We couldn't have been happier with the result. In fact, we are so happy with their work that we have recently hired Boileau Construction to help us with another remodel project.
