I recently hired Brent with Dobberstine Homes for some updates and remodeling on my home, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. If you are looking for a remodel, I would highly recommend Dobberstine Homes, Inc. Brent (the contractor) simplified our remodel by supplying a list of places to go for things like flooring, appliances, lighting, paint, and everything in between. This was very helpful! All of his recommendations and subcontractors were highly skilled very professional and very nice. Brent would stop by almost daily to make sure the work for the day was up to his standards and ours. He had a very detailed timeline for our project and stuck to it. Our house is 50+ years old and he treated it like it was a brand new home and made our dream kitchen come true! We are very pleased and would recommend to anyone thinking about remodeling or building.

Brent has worked with us on a number of renovations (inside and outside) from small (bathroom) to big (main floor and basement). Brent managed a large project that we were very pleased with the end result. It was an unusual job and the subs he used were skilled and did a very good job. It was completed in a reasonable period of time as well. There was not a lot of drama either which was nice. Brent performs in a solid manner.

We used Brent and his team for the renovation on our home we purchased on our return from living overseas. Our renovation included: Kitchen remodel including a wall removal for open floor on main level, new hardwood floors upsatirs, new luxury vinyl in basement, master bath remodel, new tile in other bathrooms and laundry, full repaint on interior, and some new carpet. Brent was our contractor for our new home build. He was easy to communicate with and followed through on all concerns we had during the building process.

We used Brent Dobberstine and Dobberstine Homes, Inc. for a large project in the summer of 2016. We interviewed multiple individuals and companies before finally deciding on Brent and Dobberstine Homes. While some companies quoted less than Brent, they did not have the reputation of Dobberstine Homes. My wife and I ultimately decided that it was worth the extra cost and avoid cutting corners to save a little money when remodeling our home. Our project consisted of a full kitchen remodel, including removal of a structural wall. Brent estimated that the project would last 8 weeks. We were on a very strict deadline as Sarah was 7-months pregnant with our first child. Brent projected that everything would be completed by the first week in August. Sarah’s due date was the second week of August. We had no room for error. Brent told us early on that he would let us know each day what was happening. He also told us that he would be at our home every day to supervise the work being done. He kept his word on both issues. Brent was great at communicating, which made the entire process easier to handle as a homeowner. During the project there were some unexpected problems that came up. I have a feeling that this happens on every large-scale project, but the key is how your contractor handles the problems. Brent gave us choices on how to proceed and the estimated costs involved. We felt that he was always honest with us, which was very comforting. Our home remodel was finished AHEAD OF TIME. Yes, Brent kept his schedule and even finished a few days before he promised. We were obviously very happy at the time, but since then we have spoken to multiple friends and family members that have had awful experiences with their contractors – one month projects that turn into three, or contractors that just stop showing up. In hindsight, Brent and Dobberstine Homes were unbelievable with their ability to keep a timeline. We haven’t officially reached out to Brent yet, but we are looking to start another home project in the near future. We feel at ease knowing that we don’t have to go through the interview and vetting process this time around. All we have to do is call Brent, tell him what we want, and he will take care of the rest. Brent and Dobberstine Homes, Inc. made the home remodel process as stress-free as possible, which is worth it’s weight in gold. In 2015, we hired Dobberstine Custom Homes to completely renovate a 25 year old patio home. Dobbe provided excellent customer service beginning at the design phase, and lasting throughout the entire project. Before we started the project, Dobbe plotted out a very tight timeline involving at least a dozen contractors, which was strictly adhered to. Dobbe was also very sensitive to the budget which he monitored very closely. The end result was a beautiful "new" picture-perfect home that we love! We would definitely recommend this company for a remodel project or new construction.

Having Dobbie build our house proved to be an exceptional choice. His honesty, professionalism and accurate estimate of cost and construction timeline are his greatest attributes. He had no problem including in our house woodwork, doors and windows that were salvaged from a 100 year old family farmhouse that held special memories for my wife. Any request or question we had was handled with positive enthusiasm. He also suggested many creative design and structure options base on his experience that we would have never consider nor had knowledge of without his input. Doberstine Custom Homes remodeled a villa that we purchased. Dobbe is very detail-oriented. He develops a timeline and manages his subcontractors to keep them on schedule. He listened to what we wanted and was very creative in changing existing space to meet our visions. Dobbe was on site daily to check on the subcontractors. He communicated with us regarding all phases of our project and there were no surprises at the conclusion of the project. This is the second time we have been involved with Dobbe on a home project and both experiences have been very positive.

We have worked with Dobberstine Custom Homes off and on for over 28 years. They have been professional, responsive and reasonable in price. Their work is of high quality. In the late 1980's, they were the general contractor on a $75,000 to $80,000 remodel of our home. In 2014-2015, Dobberstine assisted us with major repairs to that same home. In both incidences, although over 25 years apart, Dobberstine's quality work and honest assessment remained the same. We would recommend, and have recommended, Dobberstine to anyone needing the services it provides.

In 2010 Dobberstine Custom Homes built our new home. We enjoyed every minute of working with Dobbe. In the beginning he gave us some lists which included everything we needed to do to keep up with the building process. We had many questions and when we weren't sure what to do, Dobbe always had an idea since he has so much knowledge and experience in building custom homes. There were no surprises; each month we received a detailed list of expenses for materials and contractors' work and made a payment when we met to review the monthly receipts and invoices. Dobbe was at our building site daily to oversee the work of the sub-contractors. It was easy to see that Dobbe's contractors had respect for him and we were pleased with all of them. Dobbe was able to give us a finish date and we moved in on that exact day. When I hear horror stories from acquaintances about their home building projects, I know they chose the wrong builder. If we didn't love our home so much, we would be ready to start building all over again, with Dobbe.

My wife and decided to build a new house in 2001 after becoming empty-nesters. We did our homework on finding a location, lot and builder. After seeing the homes that Dobberstine Custom Homes had built, we interviewed some of the owners. They spoke highly of Mr. Dobberstine (Dobbe). We decided on his company to build our new home. We were not disappointed. He was well organized and on top of all issues that arose. I think he was especially good at the following: - cost management -attention to detail -everyday oversight -experienced subs -easy communication style He was amenable to changes. When his lead rough-in carpenter suggested a major architectural change during the rough-in process that made a lot of sense, we and Dobbe agreed and adopted it. We had one cost overrun concerning the trim carpenters on the red oak trim that we had selected (vs. painted pine trim). Dobbe absorbed a good share of the overrun out of his fixed profit amount. When we chose a line of items costing more than the plan ( for example, a superior fireplace gas log unit or fescue versus bluegrass,) Dobbe did not make additional profit off of the items as some builders do. His profit was a fixed amount going in. He presented us with details on how every dollar was spent during the building process. We were and are happy with our home. I can't speak highly enough of Dobbe. We had land and needed to build our dream retirement location. This required construction of 6 buildings of varied design and construction. And we did it from 400+ miles away as we had not actually retired at the time. His budget was very detailed and accurate. The monthly billings were likewise with clear explanations if something varied from our budget plan. And the dream property became a reality on time and within budget (except for our changes of course).

Our building experience could not have been better. The quality of work and their attention to all the details made our house everything we wanted it to be.
