Distinctive Metal Roofing

Installed a Kasselwood Steel Shingle roof (New Cedar), gutters, soffit, and fascia. All of it done extremely well, and professionally at each step of the process. Would recommend them to anyone, and will use again in the future (although I hope to never need it!).

We live in a 1952 barn that we converted into a home. High winds in our area caused us to replace our roof twice in 30 years so we decided it was time to look at other options. Due to the unusual slope of our roof, we had a difficult time finding contractors willing and able to provide a quote. Bruce from Distinctive Metal Roofing came out within days of our initial contact and walked us through what it would take to replace our roof with unique Kasselwood steel shingles. The Distinctive Metal Roofing team put down approximately 5,500 square feet of shingles on the roof of our barn and silo, replaced and reframed three roof windows and replaced the gutters. The team did an excellent job and Gary and Will kept us informed throughout the entire process. We have been receiving almost daily compliments and questions about the roof since it was completed a week ago. We are glad we had the opportunity to work with these gentlemen. We highly recommend them to anyone interested in a high-quality roof and excellent craftsmanship!

We had them replace our main roof (slate) in 2019 and the front porch and addition (asphalt) in 2020. The addition included replacing 3 skylights. They also replaced the gutters on the main roof and front porch. Both jobs were done with excellent craftsmanship, courtesy and cleanliness. They also finished in a timely manner despite weather issues. Top-notch all around. We will hire them again if we decide to add on to our house.

Distinctive Metal Roofing did a complete tear-off of our roof and replaced it with a KasselWood stamped shingle-style metal roof, replaced the ridge vent, installed cast aluminum snow blocks over the garage and front door, and replaced all of the gutters with 6" seamless gutters with Shur-Flo Leaf Protection. This went very quickly. They were completely done in 3 days in the cold of winter (no snow falling) on a shallow-pitched 1950's ranch. The installation crew was careful to clean up everything on the property. We enjoyed excellent communication from both Bruce and Gary and the crew chief. (Bruce was, in fact, to our shock, the only metal roofing installer who was willing to meet with us in person to provide an estimate.) I would happily use them again, though the point of the metal roof is that I'll be dead before it needs to be replaced! The shingle-style roof goes with the house and blends in with the other houses in the neighborhood. We highly recommend Distinctive Metal Roofing.

Three years ago a house in our neighborhood had Distinctive Metal Roofing install a replacement roof which really caught our attention. Every time we would pass that particular house a comment was always made about how good the roof looked. The following spring we ran into Bruce from Distinctive Metal Roofing at the Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show. We had a pleasant and very informative conversation about metal roofing from which we knew that when it was time to replace our asphalt shingles Distinctive Metal Roofing was the forerunner for getting the job. Two years plus later we called Bruce for an estimate followed by a site visit for a formal quote. Bruce was extremely helpful and patient while we decided on the best shingle for our home. Once we had the contract signed, Gary kept us up to date on the projected start date and walked us through what to expect from supplies arrival through clean-up. In fact, the job started a month ahead of the expected start date. Wil, Moe, and the rest of the crew were phenomenal at their craft. They arrived on time each day, worked hard, and cleaned up at the end of each day; too bad they only do roofing. Upon job completion, Gary walked us around the house pointing out features and answered every one of our questions. He later took aerial pictures of the roof which was a really nice touch. The return on investment for the metal roof made the project one of our better remodeling decisions.
