We just built our home with Sekas and we are very happy and satisfied with the final product. They allowed us to explore our creativity in customizing some options. One criticism is, I wish they explained more of the process and the steps up front, as we missed some opportunities to add our personal touch. At the end of the day. We just purchased a townhome with Sekas (Sunrise Square). The process was very smooth and everyone was friendly. They truly care about their customers and we would highly recommend them.

These are nice people and I think they build a decent home but I have found at that at least plumbing subcontractor to be subpar. My home is two years old. I have now found out that they used pcvp plastic plumbing for the water. My new plumber has told me that it is the worst material because the joints are often sealed improperly. Pex is a much better non-copper alternative at the same price. Furthermore my kitchen sink leaked, my dishwasher leaked. the toilets were installed incorrectly installed and the flushing mechanisms were just junk. My new plumber has fixed every toilet and the only reason I am not upgrading the plumbing at a cost of $20K is because the plumber advised we can always do that if the junk water lines begin to fail (and they may not but they would definitely not leaked with Pex. This was a high end house. I understand that margins in construction matter. Fine, but they tout themselves as a custom builder and they do a decent job about what ways doors should swing etc. But what really matters is the stuff you don't think of. For example don't be satisfied with just a tall toilet, you want a name brand (Delta, American Standard) that is also long in the seat--they have better flush mechanisms. Not all subcontractors are the same, you want them to use the best. You can add better sound dampening for noise within the house under the floor boards (I'm not sure we have any but you can hear the people above you). Make sure you understand how the floors you pick will stand up to scratches. In short they don't, and maybe no one does an adequate job in explaining upgrades or better choices that go the integrity of the house. But they will sell you all the glitz you want on cabinets, pulls and faucets. To me the value of a custom builder is in building a superior home is the advice as to the structural integrity, the wiring and plumbing of the house, and any commentary on the choices you pick for which there are options.

There aren’t enough positive adjectives to describe our experience with Sekas. The level of professionalism is unparalleled. Every single step in the process to date, has been pleasant, positive and productive. The company is extremely responsive and always helpful. They’re not a builder that looks to make excuses, they look for solutions. We have had pretty much every challenge a new home buyer could encounter and they have been patient and helpful all along the way. Their listing agent is most helpful, timely in his responses and in general from top down, you can see the outstanding culture within the company. Finally, their craftsmanship is outstanding! I have had poor experiences with builders in the past, but I have nothing but good things to say about Sekas.

I recently bought a new condominium in Reston’s new “Sunrise Square”, a Sekas Homes development. I am thrilled with this purchase!!! The materials & workmanship are outstanding, and the staff & trades people highly skilled and friendly. I would recommend Sekas Homes to anyone who is looking to purchase a high quality home in a beautiful, thriving community.

We purchased a to be built 4 story condo located in Vienna from Sekas, so we were with Sekas during the construction process. Their processes and quality control are excellent. They were transparent and very responsive to change requests during the process. They met all the timetables and their staff is excellent.

Completely gutted a wooded area with homes that make are eye soars in the area. Only cares about bottom line.

Sekas built our custom house in Vienna in 2011. We were very happy with the construction and management. They took our plans and built it to our specs. They have excellent crews in the office and on site. I really appreciate their ability to work out small issues while staying on schedule. Its common that most people are pretty happy and excited when they move in - but the real test is many years later. Our house is over five years old and we are still very happy with it. I love the fact that you can use the same contractors who build the house to work on projects years later. Sekas also stands behind his work. We had an issue with siding on a dormer a few years back; I called Sekas and they sent a crew to fix it. More recently, in early 2017, the fix did not seem to work out. JD reviewed the work decided to have contractors replace everything ---it looks great. I highly recommend Sekas for new home building.

Beautifully designed custom home. Sekas strives to ensure 100% satisfaction in tailoring the house to the buyer's taste. Organized and experienced builder, allowing them to build the house to the high standard, while doing so in an efficient manner. Pleasant people to work with, but after the build customer service communication and follow through unfortunately becomes a concern.

Moving to a new home whether you are simply buying or building a custom home is probably one of the most stressful and difficult decisions that any family can make. In 2016 my wife and began the search for a new home in Vienna Virginia. As part of the process we visited around 15 different builders and toured their model homes. One of the first homes we visited was new construction built by Sekas. After meeting with the other builders and seeing what they have to offer we ended up back at this house build by Sekas. There were 2 things that drew us back to that home. First was the quality of the construction, specifically we felt like for the value that Sekas had a superior product. Second was the knowledge, patience and no-pressure approach of the Sekas consultant who helped us that day. After we signed the contract with Sekas the process to build our custom home began. Throughout the process they were very professional, extremely responsive, and knowledgeable. Rather than build you a home, the Sekas approach was more about customer service and guiding you to help make the right choices so that you get the house that you want. At every step from the planning until the post-settlement walk-thru Sekas was focused on listening to our needs and providing the ultimate customer service. Even after our 1 year anniversary there were several situations when we helped from Sekas. Each time we reached out we did so knowing that they would be helpful and responsive. This customer service was tested yet again when Sekas purchased the property next door to ours. From the very beginning of that process Sekas reached out to us and kept us informed of their plans for the property. They even met with us to ensure that we were aware of any work along the property line. After the work was completed Sekas proactively scheduled new sod installation to make sure we were completely happy. John Sekas and his team did an amazing job building our dream home. The highest compliment I can give them is that if we were to do this again that we would most certain choose John and his team.
