I am writing to highly recommend Classic Construction, led by German, for any construction or renovation needs. From start to finish, their work exceeded expectations in every way. German and his team demonstrated true professionalism—communicating clearly and consistently throughout the project. They delivered excellent craftsmanship, stayed on schedule, and worked with care and attention to detail that reflected real pride in their work. Their pricing was fair and competitive, offering strong value without compromising quality. What stood out most was their old-school integrity—a genuine commitment to doing the job right and treating clients with respect. It's increasingly rare to find a company that blends skill, honesty, and reliability so seamlessly. I would not hesitate to work with Classic Construction again and recommend them wholeheartedly.

We just finished a very large renovation with German from Classic Construction. German gutted our downstairs and added an entire second floor onto our home. We could not be happier with the work - both the process and the quality. German is always responsive, always helpful, and always professional. His crew are also exceptional - they are incredibly neat and pay attention to detail. I cannot recommend Classic Construction enough. I would give them more stars if I could, and that is saying quite a lot after completing a large, year long project.

We hired German to update our new house in Westport before we moved in. After meeting with several contractors in the area, it was clear that German was going to be the most responsive, easiest to work with and eager to do the best job. In only one month (from our closing date to move in!) German and his team put fresh paint in basically every room in the house, sanded/stained the floors a new color, replaced all of the light fixtures, installed new vanities, mirrors & toilets in the bathrooms, wrapped the stone chimney with Sheetrock to install a recessed TV and transformed a dark wood library to beautiful light gray lacquer with custom built in shelving. We were especially impressed with their carpentry work. German and his team worked hard to get the job done in a short period of time. If at any point there was an error in execution, German made sure to correct it at no additional cost to us. German was very invested in the project and our satisfaction. He was always in touch with us and easy to reach the entire time.

After years of not being happy with the flooring of our foyer, we decided to do something about it and after seeing some very good reviews online I called German at Classic Construction Group, who actually came over on the same day to meet us and take a look. It was immediately obvious that German had considerable insight and experience and after discussing the situation we decided to replace the existing flooring with marble tiles. We went to a tile store where German had a connection and because of this we were able to get an excellent contractor discount on some beautiful Carrera Bella marble tiles and German had his team come over and begin the project shortly afterwards. His team were consummate professionals who put up plastic sheets to shield our other rooms from the construction in the foyer, and did a very impressive, beautiful job in completing the project in a little over a week, much faster than we had anticipated. The necessary carpentry for the threshold and footings was also done very well, and German did an excellent job in having custom-sized air registers crafted out of marble which blend in superbly with the new floor. We have lived in our house over 20 years and during this time on several occasions have used contractors for various improvements. Many times I have encountered the frustration of phone calls being ignored or not being returned, contractors not showing up at arranged times, and general lack of communication and responsiveness. German was the opposite of this in that he answered every phone call, corresponded by text, and responded promptly to any questions we had prior to and during the project. We are highly satisfied and would not hesitate to use Classic Construction Group again.

I hired German Ruiz, Classic Construction Group in January 2018 to start work on a “charming, fixer upper” I purchased in Larchmont, NY. The house had great bones but was outdated from top to bottom, including painted faux painted panel walls. I asked Classic Construction to gut and expand the kitchen by knocking down a wall and moving another, redo a bathroom, sheet rock walls, replace ALL window and door casings, replace doors, create custom radiator cover, tile work and address a structural concern. The work is superb and meticulous. The tile work and casings are perfectly even - no small feat in a 100 year old tudor house. The work was so well done that the kitchen cabinet supplier complimented his work. His workers were nice and polite and my new neighbors expressed that they were very friendly and neat. The base project was on budget any overages were due to my finish selection and a missing beam not indicated by my architect. His estimate was pretty close. The time was a little longer than preferred due to permits and suppliers - but I have yet to hear of a renovation project without a frustration. Personally, German is great to deal with and very personable. An enjoyable experience! I will definitely hire again and I am quite spoiled by the relatively smooth process.

I have worked with Classic Construction over many years and in two homes. German Ruiz and his team are professional and skilled in what they do. I have moved all over the country and have done renovations and construction in the many homes I have lived in and I have never been as happy with the process or the result as I am with Classic Construction. German Ruiz is a pleasure to work with from the moment he steps into your home till he leaves at the end. His men are reliable, courteous, extremely skilled in their craftsmanship. I like to be involved in the design process and German and his team were willing to work with me on my ideas and take their expertise and make my ideas come to life. If I wasn't sure what I wanted, German helped me to come up with solutions to problems that fit my budget and looked great. They have designed, constructed all areas of my house from building closets, drywall, HVAC, and general contracting. As they transformed my house they have also helped me solve some issues with small things that weren't working right and saved me money in the process. They are talented and work quickly but beautifully. His team has been with him a long time which says a lot about German and how successful they are as a team. I have many more projects for Classic Construction and will continue to work with them and recommend them.

I hired Classic Construction to build a garage addition and renovate our 1950 cape this past year. The result is beautiful.

Classic Construction demolished an old kitchen and a bathroom and did a complete installation for our new, high-end kitchen and bathroom. They handled the entire scope of the remodeling: wood floors, tile floors, tiles for new shower, new stand-alone bathtub, new fixtures, new cabinet installation, new kitchen appliances, all electric and plumbing connections, new ceiling, fans, and under-cabinet lights, new painting. Everything was executed cleanly and with limited "do-overs". The whole project was completed on the agreed schedule and budget, and the site and resource management components of the contract were handled with high professionalism. We recommend Classic Construction, and are planning to use them in the future for other home improvement projects.

Classic Construction Group, led by German Ruiz, was a pleasure to work with on our kitchen remodel and home renovations. Throughout the entire job, German was the ultimate professional. Starting with the bidding process, German provided a quote by detailed line item which was very helpful as we were doing quite a bit of work all at one time - removal of wall paper, painting throughout the house, new crown molding, new recessed lighting, updated powder room, sanding and refinishing of hardwood floors, and a full gut renovation of our kitchen, including some structural work to expand and change the layout. It was great to get the line item breakdown so we were able to make trade offs where necessary.After starting the job, German was always readily available via text or phone to discuss any topic related to the job. We had to pull permits and he managed the permit process and worked with the town seamlessly to ensure we weren't held up due to inspections. His crew was always on time, very kind and respectful and always left the work site as clean as possible when they left each day. We couldn't be happier with the final product. The paint job is perfect - clean lines and beautiful trim work which was no easy feat given the amount of wall paper that had to be removed from older plaster walls. Our kitchen is beautiful, no detail left unnoticed. The cabinet and appliance installation was top notch, and everyone who sees it comments on the beautiful tile work (herringbone) for the backsplash. German and his crew finished the work in the time frame promised and were meticulous in finishing up the last few items. It's hard to imagine working with another contractor after our experience with Classic Construction Group. We are already dreaming up the next set of projects!

I originally called German to take a look at our kitchen and propose some ideas (through Angie's list). We liked him and his ideas, read some reviews of his work and met his favorite cabinet person, Sarah of Studio Dearborn. We hired German and Sarah for our kitchen renovation and are more than happy with the results. German was always available, had great suggestions and kept his wonderful and skillful crew working on the job full time. His crew is friendly, respectful and highly skilled in all areas of construction. We would definitely hire German for our next project!

My husband and I worked with German on a kitchen remodel, addition of powder room and re-location of stairs and laundry room. German is professional, pleasant and reliable- if he says he will be coming by, he means it and if he is running late (rare), he will let you know. German's team of workers are skilled in what they do, courteous and neat- you will not come home to a mess. The project took longer than expected and ended up being over budget (when is it not??) but it was done right. We could not be happier with the results! We would definitely recommend Classic Construction Group and would be happy to work with them again.
