Common Ground Landscapes

We rebuilt our cottage and Maureen designed a beautiful and picturesque new landscape plan, including decks, patios and walkways for us. She was very responsive to our needs and our request for low maintenance flowers, trees and plantings. She recommended many that are native to Michigan and they are thriving and very colorful. She is easy to work with, offered many suggestions and options, answered all our questions and she managed the various contractors to make sure that our landscape plan was implemented on a timely basis. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Maureen and we would definitely recommend her!

We completed a new house build on Lake Charlevoix in July of 2018. We started working with Maureen at least 6 months prior to completion to discuss a comprehensive plan to landscape the yard from the driveway to the lake front. During the meetings she listened to our thoughts and ideas for the overall concepts, and she ran with it from there. She is extremely knowledgeable, and developed a very detailed plan for us and the landscapers. She also factored into the plan our intentions to keep it low maintenance. After observing it for a a year now, we continue to be impressed with how beautiful the entire yard is. She was great to work with and we are very pleased with the results!! Each new guest that visits the lake house compliments the beautiful landscaping. Thanks Maureen!

We had a fairly large project for our landscape along with the rebuilding and modernizing of a 1908 lake house. Maureen's insights into all aspects of the plan and supervision of the project, choice of the best installers and adhering to our own visions made this a very special project with a great outcome. Maureen Parker of Common Ground Landscapes designed a landscape for our new home on Walloon Lake that turned out beautifully. We completely redesigned the entire property including the shoreline, patios, walkways, new trees, shrubs, flower beds, lawn, irrigation system and path lighting. Maureen was hands on throughout the entire project. One of the most enjoyable activities was going on a trip with Maureen to two different nurseries to select trees for the property. The landscaping at our home (built in 1992) was in need of an overhaul. Maureen Parker made the project a joy. She is a problem identifier (drainage, gutters, soil composition, etc.) and a problem solver. With energy, vision and knowledge she swept through our project and created a an utterly beautiful entrance to our home. She is a clear communicator and her estimates were accurate. Maureen worked with Richard Hoffman and his excellent crew who were as particular and fastidious as she. She has our highest recommendation.

Common Ground designed the landscape at our new home, they also took bids from local contractors for the work and helped us pick a contractor. The whole experience was the easiest part of building our house, and the most rewarding!......they were very reasonably priced as well, I highly recommend Common Ground.
