Building a house is a complicated project with so many details we never imagined. Tate and his people made it exciting and guided us through every aspect. Brett, the project manager, tuned into our wants and special requests and helped turn them into reality. As a whole, they walked us through the planning, financing and construction details and supported us every step of the way. Dependable, reliable, they made sure everything was what we wanted, while giving us great advice. After four years living in our home we can't recommend them highly enough.

I have been completely satisfied with Christie Meade. The men were polite and professional, and certainly knew what they were doing. Their attention to detail was amazing. I am so pleased and happy with my new home. There were a couple of things that needed to be fixed after everything was completed, and they have taken care of those things promptly.

We recently moved in to our new custom home designed and built by Cristee Meade Building Co. of Cedaredge, Colo. We could not be happier with the final product! Ours is a “multi-generation” house that was designed to accommodate the needs and design opinions of three generations. Tate and Julie were fantastic (and very patient) throughout the process. The design aspects of Tate’s vision were beautiful and unique. An exterior design integrating wood siding, metal railings/support structure, and stone facing is exceptional. The exterior highlight is the placement of the structure on the lot, with a design priority of maximizing the San Juan Mountain Range views throughout the main living areas and bedrooms. Breathtaking…. The home interior is unique in design concepts, highlighted by a three level iron railing and wood plank floating staircase. The use of wood structural beams along with the use of steel plates for the fireplace exterior is a work of art. Tate and Julie’s team were outstanding, from the craftsmen and women, to the planning/accounting team. Budgeting for a construction project in the challenging inflation period we have recently experienced is a roller coaster ride. This was our first experience with having a new home built. Cristee-Meade Building Company (Tate & Julie Locke) were highly recommended by a couple of people we had spoken with in the area. So, on their advice, we contacted Tate and got to work on building a home. Tate did an outstanding job from design and floorplan to finishing the home. He also kept the build within our budget. We contacted Cristee-Meade regarding a special custom fence we wanted to build on our live/work Gallery property in Cedaredge, Colorado. We'd taken note of some of the're other projects and were impressed with CM's ability to think out of the box and they came to us with a very cool and sophisticated plan. The finished project exceeded our expectations in both appearance and function. The staff was great to work with in both design and build. The field staff are so courteous and professional that I would not hesitate to use them again. It was just wonderful working with the Cristee-Meade family.

We are not able to say enough good things about Cristee-Meade Building Company. We have had them complete two projects for us now--a full home remodel and a new custom home build. The most recent new custom build they completed for us is truly a dream come true. We have planned our entire life for a retirement home nestled in the mountains and we knew there was only one choice to use as a builder after Cristee-Meade did a spectacular job on our former home remodel. From designing and plans to the finished product, Cristee-Meade was able to execute our vision perfectly. Our build site was a bit challenging, but they overcame the obstacles associated. What a surprise and delight to find this highest caliber build/design company in the tiny town I moved to! Tate and his crew are a class act, from start to finish. Their expertise and craftsmanship are second to none. All the workers and subs are polite and considerate and accommodating of my work-from-home schedule. Best of all, the project supervisor kept such good tabs on things that I didn't have to worry about something going wrong. Totally no drama. Because they're the best, they are in demand, so you might have to get in line to start your project - but it's worth it!

Cristee-Meade was a great company to work with. Right from the beginning to the very end, everything went smoothly. Tate Locke, our project manager, assured us that even though we were building from a long distance away that we wouldn’t have any issues, he’s done it before. He sent us pictures of all the milestones and was quick to respond to our questions and made us feel a part of the build. We knew how we wanted it to appear from the outside but the inside was a puzzle to us. He had great ideas for the floor plan. We had a few tweaks which he incorporated easily. We love the finished product and the layout flows beautifully. The crew was amazing. When we were able to get to town and come through, they were friendly, respectful and helpful when we had questions. Also, it was very important to us that we stayed on budget. Tate worked very hard on achieving that. We were less than 2% over budget which exceeded our expectations. We would work with Christee-Meade again in a heart beat without any qualms.

When I walk into our house I can hardly believe that I live in such a beautiful space! Spaciousness and beauty in a modern style is what we asked for and exactly what was delivered. Thanks to Tate's creative design and the conscientious and hardworking crew at Cristee-Meade we moved into our new house in August of 2019. During the pandemic we realized that we wanted more room for our family to visit. Tate and Dwan creatively redesigned our attached garage/workshop into a one bedroom apartment with a kitchen and living room while maintaining the style of the existing house. Dwan kept the project running smoothly while providing her skilled design touch. In spite of shortages and shipping delays she went out of her way to research and get the materials needed. The remodel is beautifully constructed. Now we have room for family and guests! Tate and Dwan then designed a separate garage with storage space finding the exact location on the property to integrate it with the design of the house. Cristee-Meade's friendly and hardworking crew just completed the final touches and we are thrilled with how the project turned out. The quality of design and work that Cristee-Meade provides is top notch! They are creative and dependable. We highly recommend them.

Cristee-Mead came highly recommended. Living in another state while our house was being built was a bit worrisome at first. Brett kept us informed and feel included throughout the process. STRESS FREE building!!! Yes, the impossible is possible with Cristee-Meade!!! We are seniors, 79 and 73,...Everyone warned us not to build a house because of the stress. Well, our gorgeous house is complete; and the process was like taking a fabulous educational trip with the most amazing, creative, and talented group. The owner and staff are at your side 24/7. Our Project Manager was Brett..."Mr. Wonderful"...what a brilliant man!!!!....his dedication, knowledge, communication, and guidance was outstanding. Every staff, worker, and sub was" Best of the Best". I have never experienced such a cohesive group who take pride in their work. My husband is an engineer, and has built and designed homes . He says that Cristee-Meade surpassed his expectations in quality, design, integrity, time management, and cost. Cristee-Meade has your back every step of the way....and the results are Breathtaking!!!!

Tate took the vision we had for our family home and turned it in to more than we could have ever imagined. Not only did he exceed our expectations with the quality and detail, he was very easy and enjoyable to work with and also shared our enthusiasm for the project. We bought a spec home built by Cristee-Meade in early 2019 and we love the quality and attention to detail put into the construction! When we wanted a front patio added we hired Cristee-Meade to design and build it and they didn't disappoint. The project price was reasonable and was completed timely. The patio design really improved the look of the house and we are enjoying using the new space. I highly recommend this builder; they are a pleasure to work with and you can trust them to handle your dreams!

Cristee-Meade helped us tweak the house plans we found online and then built our home, which turned out beautifully. We wanted a Craftsman-style home, both inside and out, and Tate understood and was enthusiastic about that style. We were nervous about having the house built while still living in a different state, and there were no other builders in Cedaredge we trusted to build our home "long-distance." Cristee-Meade has taken care of any issues that arose, either during construction or since we moved in.

I have had four fairly major remodel projects performed by Cristee-Meade in the past four years. From design to finish the entire process has been flawless. Not only are the Cristee-Meade personal concerned with the quality, the subs they use are as well. Tate and his crews did a wonderful job helping us restore a beautiful farm house. We appreciated that they were timely, honest, and did not cut corners. Brett, our project manager, was an excellent communicator and kept us informed along the way of where we were at from a budget standpoint and the timeline. Relocating from Denver back to the Western Slope has been a lifelong dream for me, so when it came to remodeling our home for the relocation it was of utmost importance that I found a company that was as particular about the process as I would be. Tate was great during the planning and design phase of our home. We presented him with the challenge of helping us decide between 3 lots in one particular part of our sub-division. We had an ultimate design in mind, but we had no idea of how of how to adapt this design to the selected lot. We think that the design created by Tate fits perfectly with the dimensions of our lot, and serves our particular needs. As we progressed through the various building stages--rough framing and carpentry, selection of a myriad of finishing details, and finish carpentry--Tate and his crew were always there to assist us. We had the opportunity to meet and work with most of Tate's personnel, both in the office and at our site. All the on-site individuals were hard-working, professional, and very helpful with all our needs and questions. Members of the office staff have been exceptional, giving greatly of their talents and time to assist us any time we asked for help. We have never met a better crew of people with whom to work, and all of them should be congratulated. We appreciate the follow-up with various details, both with Tate's personal crew and with sub-contractors. We look forward to many years of enjoyment in our new home.

Cristee-Meade is top-notch! The crew and subs that Tate assembled to build our barn were all professional, pleasant, knowledgable and first-rate. Remodels can sometimes be harder than new construction - as in this project, but Cristee-Meade welcomed the creative challenge in solving design issues to work around existing limitations. Tate is inventive and innovative yet practical. He repurposed the old barn wood into the new building. The project was on-time, in budget, beautifully designed, skillfully built and communication was easy! Not only did we get a new barn, we made new and dear friends!

This builder provides the highest quality workmanship combined with very creative design concepts. This is a full service builder that is involved from the design concept stage through to the finished product. He is very responsive to the customers needs and will build a home that is customized to the exact wishes of the customer.

Christee-Meade remodeled our Master Bath, added a deck bench that can seat 20 and created a new circle drive and entry at our Victorian style home. The whole process was professional, timely and on budget. The bath tile work was exceptional as was the design and carpentry on the deck bench. We were very impressed with all of the craftsmen who worked at our property. They were always on time, worked well as a team and always cleaned up every day before leaving. We have built houses and remodeled before, but Christee-Meade is one of the best in our experiences. We highly recommend them.

I started out thinking that I wanted to be my own General Contractor. I soon realized that was a mistake. I asked various people in town for references. Everyone said that Tate Locke of Cristee-Meade Building Company was the man to see. I wanted to build a very energy efficient home. I had a passive solar, earth-bermed home in mind. In our first conversation, Tate and I realized that we were on the same page in terms of energy efficiency and quality construction. Not only were Tate and Julie Locke easy to work with, but their employees were competent and fun to work with. Additionally, Tate has a great group of subcontractors that understand his desire for quality work. I have asked Tate to do a second project for me. If you ask your General Contractor to build a second building for you, then you must be a very satisfied customer!

Bathroom remodel. Consultation, advice, design and estimate for services. Included in the work - electrical - plumbing - tile and grouting - replacement of tub with a special therapeutic jetted, heated unit and lighting. The work was completed on time, professionally and of unsurpassed quality. From set up to completion, Tate and Julie made certain we were completely satisfied. I would recommend Locke Construction, dab Christee-Meade without reservation.

I have worked in a professional capacity with Locke Construction for several years and was immediately inspired with their creativity, innovation, and vision. After careful evaluation of multiple contractors, Locke Construction , LLC was selected because of Tate Locke's solid construction background, his knowledge of the most recent "green" technology, his congenial manner and ability to communicate. In consultation with the architect, Tate, ideally located the house on a challenging site. It was built as a comfortable, relaxed, "greenhouse" with many of the latest technical features to include: hyper insulation, geothermal HVAC and air exchange, CIF basement walls, double pane windows, solar panels and whole house soundproofing. HERS rating is 22. Spatial arrangement of the house was ideal. Tate is able to tweak blueprints for maximum use of living and storage space. In his effort to make our vision a reality, he drew on his problem-solving and creative talents. For example, he included material harvested on the land in railings and other aspects of the house. His base is carpentry, and it shows throughout the house , ranging from cabinets to custom-made furniture and bunk beds. He stayed on budget, played well with others and stayed close to the timelines. In the end, a beautiful, harmonious and impressive home was built. We are most pleased and appreciative and look forward to enjoying our home and in creating memories for years to come.

Over the past several years Locke Construction has completed two major renovation projects for us. An exterior and interior make over. Tate's knowledge of design was of particular value in both projects. He keeps current on industry trends and always strives to bring that knowledge to his clients. His project management skills are very good and he is consistently engaged from beginning to end. His crews are professional and skilled. They are courteous at all times. He listens to his clients and his intent is always to produce their desired outcome. He strives to operate on budget and advises of any deviation. Our overall experience has been excellent! We would definitely consider Locke for additional work on our home.

They are very cordial "and" professional. The workmanship is superb. I am sure they could do tract homes, but they don't need to. Their craftsmanship makes their custom homes real things of beauty. They keep up to date on new trends and new materials and techniques. I had them do a commercial remodel for me, but I am in the real estate business and have seen several of their large custom homes. They are all works of art.

Locke Construction provided a complete bid for the project. They have a good data base of what material and labor cost are and they draw from it to provide the bid. The finished project came in very close to the bid even though we made changes. Locke Construction was always willing to explore different options at any point in the project. They were very accomendating and able to give good ideas for improvement and change. They always focused on our satisfaction. Locke Construction from Tate and Julie down to the new employee were very respectful to us and our property. The job site was clean and orderly. In our opinion Locke Construction is the best choice a home owner can make to create a dream home. This was done for us within the time frame promised.

We hired Tate to figure out how to put a door into our house from the attached garage: the previous owner hadn't bothered to do that when he built the house. Tate figured it out right away, even tho we had all the wrong ideas, and had other good ideas of his own about the project. Good thing we hired Tate; if we'd been in charge, it would have been a disaster ; > )
