We specialize in sustainable building practices such as passive solar design, passive house, net zero, Green Built and LEED combined with construction materials designed for the climate in the Pacific Northwest. Our team focuses on creating beauty and function in the built environment that will last for generations. NZ Builders Ltd. was founded in 2004 and has over 18 years of construction building experience within New Zealand, Australia, California and Canada. The head office is located in Victoria BC. We continue to work locally, as well as on international projects. Since our founding, we have worked on a variety of dynamic construction projects including modern and traditional home builds, renovations in commercial and residential. Our high-performance custom homes provide substantial, ongoing savings on utility bills, with passive home technology resulting in up to 80% less energy consumption and a priceless healthy indoor environment over conventional houses. NZ builders finished construction on our dream home in 2024. The team was professional, highly skilled, and well versed in the construction process. Building a house, especially a custom home, is not for the faint of heart. The process comes with many challenges and obstacles which we were able to overcome with the help of NZ’s experienced guidance, support, and know-how throughout every step. The team showed up, on time, every day, with joy, humour, kindness, and enthusiasm. They gave 100%. Their attention to detail, expertise, and skilled craftsmanship is what sets them apart. NZ builders are truly passionate about the artistry of building. We are so grateful for our beautiful home, we feel as if we are living in a piece of art.

Trace Design

Since 2020, I have had the pleasure of working with Damon and the talented crew of NZ Builders on several projects. As an architect, I find it truly unique to see such a deep devotion to quality, to innovative materials, and to seeking better ways to build. Damon is as thoughtful as he is quick, and I find myself learning something new most times we cross paths. But most importantly I feel like Damon is just a great guy, and this positivity carries down to the ethos behind his company. We are excited to see the new work NZ Builders are digging into.

Several projects deficiencies that were overlooked, poor budgeting and subpar project management oversights led to missed items and overages that 'slipped through the cracks' multiple times. Broken plumbing, incomplete electrical that was already billed and 'complete', asbestos left and overlooked completely, and now a bubbling roof.... A stressful reno and a budget blown with sketchy, unclear budgeting spreadsheets that they use. In the end, we had to let them go and find someone else to work with to complete our project who was more transparent, ethical, could stand behind their quality of work, and who could manage a budget.

Canadian Waterproofing Systems

I have done several roofing jobs for NZ in the past years including the personal home of Damon the owner. Damon and his crew are very professional and detail oriented. They research every option to get the best product for the customer. Every job shows new innovations and they always try to make their project better than the last. In my years in the roofing trade I have never met a crew that was more motivated to work than Damon's guys. He treats his employees very well and all his workers are very well educated in their trades and show an unmatched dedication to their jobs and employer. Their concrete work is unique and unmatched on the island. Every job I did for them was planned to the last detail and Damon and his crew do everything to satisfy their customers. I really enjoy working for Nz builders and hope they hire me for more future projects and I would recommend NZ builders to anybody to choose for their building projects.

I have done plumbing and gas work for NZ builders. Their sites are always very tidy, organized and run in a professional manner. Every aspect of their work is carefully thought out which leads to a beautiful final product. I always enjoy being on site because they care so much about what they do, but also have fun doing it.

Definitive Drywall Inc.

My working relationship with Damon and his team started before I was operating my own company. I couldn't be happier that NZ Builders has continued to use our services for their drywall needs as we transitioned into the company that we are today. My Board Installation crew loves starting Damon's projects because they know that the NZ boys take extra care during the framing process to make sure everything is done right. This makes things easier on all subsequent trades people. A great bunch of guys supplying a stunning finished product EVERYTIME. We're very proud to be a part of this team!

Commented: Tv wallThe is a sound bar mounted on the rear of the TV and speakers in the ceiling as well. The TV has built in Netflix and we don't have the need for Cable TV. Does that help?
