This review is long overdue. Ted and his amazing crew replaced our tiny deck in 2024 with a larger space that completely transformed our relationship with our yard. The new deck flows from the back door and feels like an extension of the house. It's more like an outdoor living room now. I feel 100% satisfied with our experience from beginning to end. Ted worked with us to come up with a custom design that would fit our yard and our house, how to optimize the build to re-use existing elements to fit our budget and the building crew was very friendly and efficient. The city inspector on the final inspection said "I rarely see cabinet level carpentry on an outdoor deck build." and passed the project with flying colors. With such a large investment, I was very nervous that we wouldn't get exactly what we wanted and would have to compromise in some way. Our deck is everything I hoped for and wouldn't hesitate to contact them again for future projects or refer my friends and family. We'll enjoy our new deck for years and years to come.

Wonderful experience working with Deckwerks. Ted was experienced and took the time to talk through the project, gave ideas, didn't rush us out like others did. Sergio was extremely helpful and on top the operations from permits to finish. Leo and crew were detailed and did a wonderful job installing our Timbertech deck. They were highly respectful of our space, explained things along the way, and even helped fix some additional issues they found after pulling the old deck out. Deckwerks built a TimberTech AZEK deck in our Evanston back yard, and we are completely pleased with the workmanship, the materials, and the experience we had with Deckwerks. We found Ted Benson to be very knowledgeable and helpful during the design process and throughout the project. We were pleased that Deckwerks was able to install our deck this summer, and the project was completed earlier than we initially expected. Communication about the status of the project was good. The crew that did the construction work is skilled, efficient, and courteous. The deck is extremely sturdy, and it looks great. Thorough work was done to make the deck highly resistant to animals getting under it. I highly recommend Deckwerks.
