My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Forget about the fact Dennis and Bradley of Red Oak Construction build beautiful houses (that’s a given). What they brought to the table was “peace of mind”! This day and age of endless horror stories of “Flaky” contractors. We were 100% confident with every aspect during our construction knowing they were in control, they stayed ahead of every phase we entered, they were very good at communicating to us any issues, questions or suggestions. In a few cases had to make command decisions on issues that needed immediate response. They made those decisions putting our thought process first. . Then brought it to our attention as soon as they could. Without a doubt, the best decision we made throughout our entire new home construction, was hiring Dennis and Bradley to build our home. One more important fact. They were very clear with our cost to build up front. And we are thrilled to say, with the crazy cost of building materials and Labor cost, they finished our home within budget! LOOK NO FURTHER!!!! Like us, you’ll be glad you did!!!

Red Oak, thanks you for the privilege of building your new home. You all were great to work with, and I commend you for staying in front of the build and making the decisions, so it was not delayed. We look forward to seeing you around town and welcome you to the community. Thanks, Dennis & Bradley. PS. Thanks for the great review

The journey of building my final house on the side of Point Lookout mountain was made possible by Dennis Brown of Red Oak Const. Along with his son Bradley, top notch carpenters Clifford,Matt & Barry and many skilled tradesmen the vision I had in mind became a reality.its not an easy task undertaking a build on a steep knarley unforgiving piece of property that we had to work with.it was amazing watching these skilled craftsmen as I was there everyday(a perk of being retired lol!).the process was seemless and smooth.if you know what you want they will build it that way exceeded expectations.I’m truly Blessed to be moving in real soon.I would highly recommend Red Oak construction. A big thank you for all the hard work guy’s! Mike K.

Red Oak Construction is the best of the best! We highly recommend Dennis and Brad along with their employees. They are trustworthy, dependable and have a high ethical standard with years of expert building experience. Talk with any "locals" in Alleghany County and they will recommend Red Oak Construction as one of the top builders in our Northwest North Carolina/Virginia area. Our new home presented challenges at every stage of construction from building on top of a mountain full of rock to the modern design with features including a floating stairwell and three-level elevator. Brad and Dennis along with the rest of the work crew have years of work experience with a "good eye." They have excellent design ideas and quickly tackle any new challenge with great success. As our building project progressed over the months I found myself relying more and more on the Red Oak Construction suggestions and advice. Our building project was completed last fall and we have been using the home for 10 months. We love the home and are very pleased with the quality of construction.

Dennis & Bradley and all the crew (Clifford, Matthew, Barry, & Richard) did an AMAZING job on our new home! Every detail was attended to with care and our finished home is beyond our expectations! Every sub-contractor they hired was top-notch. You will NOT be disappointed with the work they do and the integrity they bring to the process is unmatched. We are so thankful for them and are thrilled to be able to say our home is built by Red Oak Construction. Dennis (Red Oak) was the first builder recommended to us and the end result was definitely worth the wait. We love our home, we love & respect the guys, 100% recommended to build your home!

To say the least, our Galax cottage and garage is unique! Dennis looked at our drawings and shook his head, then built exactly what we wanted. What a pleasure to work with Dennis, Bradley and their crew. Their attention to quality work and detail is unsurpassed. They managed the project from start to finish. Using local suppliers, the materials were 1st quality. Our project created some ‘first’ for them which they handled like pros! Red Oak construction is up to the task. Very nice people to do business with!

Dennis and Bradley came highly regarded by word of mouth. I wish we had found them before we started our house! We hired Red Oak to build a garage for us. It was literally on a handshake. I explained what I wanted and we agreed on a price. Didn't even have plans drawn up. They were extremely professional and just great to work with. They always cleaned up every day after themselves. They are honest men which in these days are hard to come by. Dennis actually came to me one day and said our project was coming in under our agreed upon price so he was going to give me a refund. I have seen some of their other work and it is first rate! Our garage came out just as we had hoped. I would most definitely recommend Red Oak Construction for your future project!

We were living abroad when we decided to build a house near our family in the mountains of NC, so finding a contractor that we could trust was paramount. When Appalachian Log Homes recommended Dennis at Red Oak Construction, we knew that we had found the right person for our project. We appreciate Dennis’s willingness to communicate throughout the entire process and his crew’s dedication to quality work. We love our house!

Red Oak Construction made our dream home come true! Dennis and team were very professional and trust-worthy. Living 3 hours from the job site, we figured it would be impossible to monitor the process and be sure everything was completed to our satisfaction. The Red Oak team alleviated that concern and built us a home that was more beautiful than we imagined. The job site was kept clean, the crew was respectful, and any issues were resolved. Wonderful job done with integrity and professionalism!

Dennis and Bradley Brown and the crew of Red Oak Construction are simply the best. Their integrity, efficiency, skill, and knowledge are superb. During our first meeting with Dennis, we knew immediately that he was the person we wanted to build our mountain home. Dennis understood our vision, and when he showed us his previous projects, we saw the quality and craftsmanship of his work. Red Oak Construction mixes traditional building principles with current industry practices to build a solid, functional, gorgeous home. Dennis, Bradley, the crew, and the subs are gifted at taking something like a set of basement stairs or a built in bookcase or a ceiling and turning it into a beautifully crafted work of art. Their attention to detail is unsurpassed. Dennis worked with us every step of the way and was always available to answer questions and provide direction. Red Oak Construction completed our home on schedule and within the estimated budget for the build, which was very important to us. We have the highest regard for Red Oak Construction and enthusiastically recommend them for any construction project. Paula and David Applegate

After seeing a house being built on our street we decided to use Red Oak Construction. We are very happy with the end product. Our build was during the winter months and the crew was here every day they could get to the site. Bad weather was the only thing that delayed the occupancy day. The crew was very professional and skilled. When design issues arose the contractor worked with us to resolve them. We would highly recommend this company.
