Designs on Madison

We worked with Jo Fentress for everything for our newly constructed home. Jo did her best to understand the style we liked, and was very patient with us as we deliberated on the many decisions. (She was also always professional in dealing with commentary from my husband.) Jo spent a tremendous amount of time with us working through every detail, and was always available by text for input on even little decisions. Jo, along with Annie Orosz who helped with our project, are true design experts. They were invaluable in helping us through the endless selections from cabinets to flooring to tile: making sure there was variety but also that everything coordinated. There were countless times when they put in extra effort to make sure everything was perfect, e.g., when one supplier indicated that we’d need to have a seam in our kitchen island, they called around and found a supplier who had a piece large enough such that there wouldn’t be a seam. They purchase from a range of furniture suppliers at a variety of costs and provided input not only on design but also comfort. They also are experts on sizing — from room layout and furnishings to area rugs to the size of artwork on the walls. Finally, they have connections across the industry — they commissioned art for us that is perfect in both style and color and still a very reasonable cost. Most importantly, the outcome is fantastic. We love everything from the selections to the furniture to the accessories. We’ve been receiving endless compliments. Highly recommend Jo and Annie!

Designs on Madison's Cindy Crawford, and yes that is her real name, helped me from start to finish after our new house was built. She knew I was on a budget and so she shopped with me at stores that she knew I could afford. She also surprised me this year when I was out of town and had my new shades for the bathroom installed while I was gone. What a nice touch! I still call on her anytime I feel the urge to do anything new. Even when I want to move my furniture around or paint a room a different color I call on het to help me. I totally enjoy working with her and respect all her knowledge of Interior design.

We have worked with Jo Fentress on our current home (from building stage to completion) and previous home (2 rooms only). She is always a joy to work with -- patient, understanding, willing to listen, open to what we wanted to achieve and always within our budget. She is well respected throughout our building and decorating community and, as a result, had access to many manufacturers, dealers and suppliers which made building and decorating our new home more fun than a chore. We have always been completely satisfied with the final results!

I have worked with Jo Fentress of Designs on Madison since 2005 and have found that not only is she a joy to work, but she is so skilled at all aspects of interior design. I first became acquainted with her when we were building our home. She helped us with flooring, tile, cabinetry, countertops, hardware, and lighting selections. We then used her services for designing each room in the house. She made the project seem less daunting for us by breaking it down into pieces, first starting with a color scheme based on a piece of our artwork, and from there we selected paint colors for each room, fabrics, furniture styles, and lastly window treatments and accessories. I love how the whole house flows together and how her knowledge and expertise reassured me that whatever we chose will look great in the end. I highly recommend hiring a professional like Jo for any big project because you will save yourself time money in the long term by not having to correct mistakes you might have made and you'll have a house you love.

Designer Jo Fentress recreated my keeping room off the kitchen. Jo guided me from the initial consultation with furniture layouts, fabric selections, and both the selection and installment of accessories, always with an understanding attitude for my budget and overall concerns.
