We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience building our custom home with Buffalo Bungalow. From the very beginning, Derek and his team made what could have been a stressful process feel exciting and manageable, especially since we were living out of state during the entire build. Derek’s communication was exceptional. He was always patient, responsive, and willing to answer our questions, and we had a lot of questions! Even from miles away, we always felt informed, involved, and confident that our home was in good hands. The quality of the craftsmanship and materials exceeded our expectations, and we were incredibly impressed with the subcontractors Buffalo Bungalow works with. Everyone involved clearly cared about doing quality work and bringing our vision to life. Derek also offered thoughtful design suggestions along the way that made our home even more beautiful and functional than we imagined. What stands out most, though, is Derek’s patience, kindness, and genuine commitment to helping us build our dream home. He cared about getting things right and making sure we were happy. We had absolutely no issues during the process, despite being out of state, which says so much about the trust Buffalo Bungalow earned from us. We are so grateful to Derek and his stellar team, especially Brian and DJ, for building a home we absolutely love. Buffalo Bungalow recently built a lake home for me as a second home and they did an amazing job and most importantly within the timeframe they committed to finishing. Derek the owner was not only great to work with he was solution oriented. The quality aspect and creative execution was spot on. I felt that financially they were honest and stood by their word throughout the entire process. I would definitely build another home with them!! Highly recommend using this company!! A+ grade.

My husband and I contracted with Buffalo Bungalow to build a seasonal home for us. We expected this to be a very daunting task given that our primary residence was several states away, but this was not the case. Derek, and his crew, made things quite seamless. He was always available to answer any questions we had and he communicated what information he needed from us in a timely manner. My husband and I just completed our new build with Buffalo Bungalow. We cannot say enough good things about this company. They were incredible to work with and their fearless leader, Derek, was always happy to answer any question we had. We met Derek after interviewing a ton of different builders. The thing that was different about Derek was that all other builders talked about feelings the house would make you feel or something about the design. We knew Derek's houses looked really good so we were not worried about the looks, but instead of talking about design, Derek talked about the materials that he used and why. For our house, 6" outer walls for insulation, CoreTec Floors standard, flooring that is unique in that it doesn't warp if it gets covered in snow in construction. No one else put the time into talking about the building materials. No one else appeared to have a house this well made. We hope this is a house that will last many families many lifetimes. Also, Derek's prices were competitive as well. The house was great. Building is always a little stressful, doubley so when there are so many choices to be made, but Derek was great and patient through the whole process and we could not have been happier. Also, the home is truly one of a kind. We drew up a picture on a piece of paper, his architect refined it until it made sense and all the quirks were out, his designer made it look amazing, and we built it! One thing we really appreciated was his willingness to hear, 'we want to explore another option' for something and he gave a great recommendation and it worked out well. Can't wait to work again with Buffalo Bungalow on finishing our basement at some point.

When we were thinking of building our new house, there were so many options to choose from and it became overwhelming. Derek came highly recommended from someone close to us and once we spoke with him he made our decision very easy. Really listened to us, especially during the design phase. Put all our worries at ease, and we had major anxiety about building. Very accepting of my partner and our LGBT lifestyle, full disclosure because Mike their carpenter is my partner. Either way no regrets and would recommend to anyone who values quality.

Our experience with Derek and Laurie was exceptional. When we started our journey, we knew we wanted a larger house for our growing family, but we weren't even sure we wanted to build. We had family and friends who had built with some of the bigger builders in the area and they didn't seem to have the best experience. We have very specific style and we knew none of the builders we had come across in the area could really match our style, until we saw Derek and Laurie's work. Their work is modern and unique, I had not seen anything like it locally. I reached out to Derek, not knowing what to really expect. Derek answered all my questions over the phone and explained the process of building from start to finish. I was impressed with his friendliness, passion for his work, and his "non-salesman" attitude. I had some interaction with other builders and the conversations were almost always very business-esque. After we met, we talked to Derek constantly, asking him many, many questions and he always answered thoroughly, quickly, and in a friendly manner. He and Laurie assisted us in finding land, making sure the land was appropriate for the build, talking through the design, making design selections, choosing lighting and electrical outlet locations, and much much more. Derek was very open minded regarding some of our ideas, like putting an antique window into a wall and facilitating a fence and sod installation at the end of the build so that our dogs would have somewhere safe to run around. Design choices were abundant, we could choose any paint color, we were allowed to shop for things on our own if we wanted outside of his normal vendors, and we even brought in our own custom cabinet maker. This is unheard of according to some of our friends and families who have built. We spoke with Derek sometimes daily during the build, and even now several months later we still communicate. Our build took about as long as they told us it would, even during a pandemic. We have now lived in our home since October and we are very happy with the end result and would recommend Buffalo Bungalow to others with high regard.

We are so happy with our new modern duplex in the neighborhood of Larkinville in Buffalo, NY! Derek and everyone at Buffalo Bungalow were an incredible team to work with every step of the way. They listened to our story, understood our style, and were able to translate our wants and needs into an incredible final product. We wanted to be very involved throughout the process, and Derek was always very responsive to our questions and encouraging when we needed to stop by the house and check in on progress or add new ideas.
