We couldn’t be happier with our experience working with this landscape (Richard and his crew) and pool contractor (pioneer pools in Brantford). From start to finish, the entire process was professional, collaborative, and extremely well executed. The design process went through several renditions, and the company was incredibly patient, helpful, and attentive throughout. Since our property is on a slope, they provided excellent grading advice and built a beautiful retaining wall that not only solved the elevation challenges but also enhanced the overall design of the space. What really stood out was the level of personal service and guidance they provided. They met us at the stone supplier to help us choose the perfect materials for the patio, retaining wall, and steps. They also met us at the garden centre and helped us select the right plants for both the design vision and the specific conditions of our yard. The crew kept the job site clean every evening, stayed on schedule, and completed the project within the promised timeline. Any follow-up questions we had were answered quickly and professionally. The finished result exceeded our expectations — the installation was seamless, and we absolutely love the final design. We’ve been so impressed with their workmanship and attention to detail that they will also be building a pergola for us to complete the project. From the very beginning to the final walkthrough, we felt completely confident in their expertise, honesty, and craftsmanship. Rich and Davis were very easy to work with in designing our new backyard. They were very responsive and worked with us to build a plan that fit our space and our lifestyle. It was evident to me upon meeting Rich for the first time that he had a strong passion for what he does and he truly cared and listened to my ideas and opinions to turn our backyard oasis dream into a reality. I’m one of those people that has a hard time envisioning ideas and Rich was extremely patient with me and helped explain ALL of his ideas (which are endless) in great detail and even showed me many pictures from his past projects so that I could feel comfortable knowing that no matter which direction we took, the end result would look incredible. My favourite part of the project was when we met at a nursery to hand pick some of the focal point trees, shrubs and plants that would eventually make their way into my backyard. Whenever I wasn’t sure about choosing between one tree or another, Rich explained the pros and cons so I could make an informed decision. His attention to detail is incredible and we are truly blown away at how amazing our backyard looks now. Today I can sit in my backyard that looks like I have went to a 5-star resort but instead I am just stepping out my backdoor. Two years ago we decided to put a pool in. After meeting with several companies, we were put in touch with Richard from Distinctive Landscapes to discuss the soft/hardscaping. Once we met him, our decision was made. Richard is detail oriented, cares about quality, is responsive and will always make it right. We completed a full yard upgrade including pool, full landscaping (front and back) and new driveway. It was a huge project. It could be expected that there would possibly be bumps in the road along the way (particularly with Covid) but Richard rolled with it and time and time again made it clear why we trusted him from the outset. To me, it is not an issue if everything does not go as per plan but it does matter if the person you hired to do the work cares enough to correct it or find a solution. Wow, Wow, Wow!!!! Richard and his team at Distinctive Landscapes delivered!!! We had a vision for our new pool and backyard escape and Richard made that dream come true. He stayed within budget, his team worked hard and completed the project promptly and on time. I have no doubt that we will be staying in touch for future landscape/hardscape projects in the future. Distinctive Landscaping (Richard) has been an astonishing firm to deal with. Rich was originally contracted to do the entire backyard (hard/softscape, lighting) around a new pool. After seeing his entire vision and attention to every one of our needs, including our preferences of plant maintenance/ cover (maybe the best arborist we’ve spoken with) - we got him to work on our front as well. His crew is as efficient and professional as they were personable, did a bunch of extra heavy lifting for us. Despite the difficulties of the past year dwindling supplies, Rich had all the it procured and ready to go. His immense patience, aesthetic sensibilities, knowledge and flawless execution speak to a unique dedication to his craft.

Best experience ever!!! Distinctive Landscape’s team completed my project on time and on budget! I was fairly nervous about doing a big backyard project, but they walked me through the details several times in advance. During the course of the project they showed up at 7 am every day, and worked diligently until 5 or 6 each day. I will definitely recommend them highly and use them again myself.
