I couldn't be more pleased about the design and service I received from Brooks and Kaitlin at Dunn Architecture Studio, and would recommend them without hesitation. They took my idea of building a very utilitarian guest house in an existing driveway, and turned it into an exceptional home that should be in Dwell magazine. Great outside-the-box thinkers, respectful of my budget, and incredibly thoughtful in design. They turn potential limitations into creative opportunities. Brooks and Kaitlin were hands-on the whole way through my project, and were consummate diplomats helping me navigate through some really rough spots with my contractor. They were always timely in getting back to me if I had questions and were on-site often to make sure construction was up to par. They took the design all the way through to the permit process until it was ready to issue, and were savvy and knowledgeable on getting the answers we wanted from the permit office. I could go on and on about these guys, but suffice to say, I couldn't be happier and have a home that exceeded my expectations by a long shot.

Maize Development Co. hired WDA to design and oversee construction of a spec home in the Mt. Olympus neighborhood of Los Angeles. The design was so captivating that as it became realized, a prospective buyer made a pre-emptive record setting bid for this neighborhood before the house was completed.. WDA provided excellent detailed review of all of monthly bills of the general contractor and all subs to be sure that the house was being built true to the plans. WDA provided excellent value for the amount charged for their services.

Whitten Dunn Architects cares about your project as if they were planning to live in the home they are helping to design and construct. They stay ahead of pacing items and dig in to resolve complicated issues. Excellent ideas on product sourcing and trends. Great contractor introductions. And all at a competitive cost. Highly recommend. We went from having the least attractive house on the block to the house that causes traffic disruption because people are looking at it and saying nice things! Well done guys.

Shramek Building Company, inc. built the Mansfield project in Manhattan Beach in 2012-2013. Working closely with Brooks was a pleasure not only was the contemporary design fresh, the material choices were very compatible with the environment and the neighborhood. Brooks attention to detail made working with them effortless. They have years of experience as I had worked with with Alec on a contemporary house over 13 years ago.

This was a fabulous job. My house went from merely OK to better than my wildest dreams. I now have a new, bright larger kitchen with a separate laundry room, a bathroom and walk-in closet in the master bedroom, a closet that creates a foyer and display niches for my collection of Pueblo pottery and Navajo rugs.
