We specialize in Home design, focused on adding value for our clients. Believing that design is a Conversation between Client & Architect, DPA explores and creates solutions that are specific and collaborative. We offer contemporary Modern design solutions in which no project is to small or to complex. Our focus is to create architecture balanced with its natural environment. Along with being aesthetically appropriate to the site, neighborhood and community, our goal is to complete projects that are energy conscious, add value and inspire a greater sense of who the Client is. Knowing that good design and architecture are an investment, we provide a multi-layered process and quality control, so that change orders are reduced, added value is realized and our clients are happy.

We hired Dwight Patterson when remodeling our home. We were considering making some design changes to create an open floor plan, as well as incorporate an outdoor patio with a connected roof line to a detached structure. Dwight is an excellent listener and pays attention to detail. He drew plans for our proposed changes, which we then gave to a few contractors to obtain bids. Communication was quick and responsive. Dwight’s a great guy.

I became acquainted with Dwight Patterson in architecture school. That experience grew into a design collaboration of ours on several occasions. From room additions, to residential remodels, and eventually to a four unit residential development project of our own known as The Point Loma Four, Dwight has always exhibited a keen sense of design and problem solving. Dwight’s architectural career has taken several paths, including residential, religious, commercial and municipal design. As I have observed his designs in those varied architectural arenas, I have been impressed by the architectural design creativity & integrity with which he has met the demands of the client’s program, along with a respectful relationship to the environment. I would recommend Dwight Patterson, without hesitation, as a competent and considerate Architect.
