As the owner of an interior design firm, I always turn to Echo Workshop for my clients’ and my own technology needs. They are professional, thoughtful and practical problem solvers. They provide excellent solutions, tailored to our specific needs. They are patient and helpful in explaining the technology to both new and experienced users. I really enjoy working with them on our renovation and new construction projects.

Echo Workshop is unique in the personal home technology field. They consistently offer caring, personal service as they provide supremely artful recommendations that include the latest technology for the whole home. In June, 2020, I visited their Houston, Texas showroom and the co-owner, Luis Cortez, demonstrated the intricacies of the Samsung Frame television and Sonos Playbar sound system that I was interested in buying. I instantly knew I would receive the competent instillation and excellent follow-up service I always expect to receive when buying a product or service. Every aspect of the instillation and operation of the television and sound system was shown and simply explained in a way that me, this non-technical person, could easily understand. Even though Echo Workshop is based in Houston, Texas, they have extensions of their services in other Texas cities. Echo Workshop in Houston ordered the television and sound system and arranged for it to be sent to my home in San Antonio, Texas. The San Antonio Echo Workshop service, Martin Castaneda, unpacked and expertly installed the Frame television and Sonos sound bar as free floating items onto my living room wall. Martin again simply and thoroughly explained and had me demonstrate to him that I understood how to operate all the systems. It all has worked just as Luis Cortez demonstrated to me in his showroom. I had some minor problems with the systems that were totally related to my television cable service. Martin quickly and completely solved those problems. Any one whom comes into my home positively comments about the looks of the floating look of the television and the sound bar. When they see the picture quality and hear the surround sound system, they always want the same in their homes. I always refer them to Echo Workshop.

We did a remodel on our house which included “making workable” our home automation system, which was an early version that had been installed 8 years earlier and had never lived up to our expectations. Our general contractor introduced us to Luis Cortes and Echo Workshop and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results, as well as the process/interactions. Luis has extensive knowledge in all areas of home automation and shows true professionalism in the conduct of his business – and he’s great to work with! Notable components of the new system include: •Custom motorized window shades. The ~30’ height required Luis to coordinate with Lutron’s research department to ensure design viability (the height was beyond the normal specs for fabric shades; design modifications and independent testing were necessary) •Custom backlighting for a ~24’ glass mosaic above the fireplace •High end hidden speakers installed in multiple locations – including behind wood paneling. The sound is fantastic! Key components of the systems Echo Workshop designed, recommended/selected and installed/replaced: •Heating/Air Conditioning control system •Audio – amps, speakers, etc. •Video – DVRs, TV’s, etc. •Lighting Control – chandeliers, recessed lights, etc. •Security – hardwired alarm sensors, new security cameras •Phone/intercom system “re-work” •Re-building the control room, including re-wiring & organization •Other – TV lifts, wiring conduits for future expansion, etc., etc. Luis and his associates focus on customer satisfaction, are pleasant to work with, and know what they’re doing – I highly recommend them!

They designed and installed our theater room, whole home audio, network, home automation, and alarm system. They also helped us upgrade all our Systems to full streaming when we moved away from Satellite television. They are fast to respond when an issue arises. Whenever possible, Luis has walked me through troubleshooting and correcting an issue remotely. This helps get me up and running faster and saves me the cost of a service call. We built a new home and we hired Luis & his team from Echo Workshop to do the whole project including initial wiring, lighting, cameras, all video/tvs in the home including the home theater and security systems. Luis & Team performed an excellent job for the whole house! They were within the budget - on time & all done to perfection. Since then if we needed any help, they are there to do it on time and professionally. Luis, Pam and whole team are great to deal with and we would recommend them for any jobs.

Quick service, very pleasant employees, I would not contact anyone else for service. My equipment was about 5 years old so they spent hours bringing it up to date, then they Installed the new equipment. No additional charge either.

I've had great dealing with Echo Workshop. The service these guys do is phenomenal. Luis is very knowledgable and they know how to handle high end clients. You can't say that about most companies. They even put shoe covers before entering your house! They installed a whole house automation system at my residence, including alarm, fire detection, music system, phone, video and network distribution. Needless to say, they are capable of handling just about any situation for your home needs. Highly recommend.

As you can see, I have been with this company for quite awhile. The techs are professional and always prepared for the project. They are a pleasure to have in the house.
