There are not enough enthusiastic accolades to describe how great it was working with Eric Richmond, Architect and owner of Flat Rock on the design of our new beach house. Eric Richmond is a true artist plus he understands construction as well as any Contractor. Eric is a true joy to work with as his talented Assistant, Angela. Eric actually listens closely to his clients wants and needs and its clear that his ultimate goal is to build the house that the client envisions. He has no agenda other than making sure that his clients are happy. All this while honoring our community values of green, eco-friendly and supporting our local businesses and crafts-folk. Since that time, we have engaged Flat Rock to transform an eye-sore building in Langley into a delightful and attractive focal point in town -- all while on a tight budget. Today, we are proud to share our 110 year company history there, engaging locals and visitors alike, and show off Langley as one of the northwest's only Gigabit Cities. And more to come as we bring our original 1913 office from its humble state into a historic destination -- again, with the help of the incredible Flat Rock Productions Team. I went to Flat Rock with a smaller house project and as the owner builder for my project. Eric approached my project very thoughtfully and listened carefully to my ideas and requirements of the design. The project finishes next month and his time and attention to my project is evident when I walk throughout the house. Additionally the drawing set he provided and his knowledge of materials and project costs proved to be invaluable during the construction process.

Eric designed a visually stunning and highly functional home on a challenging site location overlooking the Olympic Mountains on Whidbey Island. The house design maximized the view out each window, doorway, and deck. The level of detail produced in the final house plans made for a smooth builder process. Flat Rock Productions is a first class design firm from start to finish. I highly recommend for any size or style project!

Eric and the Flat Rock team designed our restaurant space last year. From start to finish the experience was awesome. They took what was in my brain, put it on paper, and then made it a reality. Having Eric at the center of the project, with all of the other contractors and workers spinning in their various orbits, he kept the project on track and in line with exactly what we wanted. Eric also designed our logo, which is absolutely perfect. We could not be happier than we are with our second restaurant!

First Eric designed a guest house for us. Now he's designing the main house. He's a good listener and easy to work with. He uses your requirements and his knowledge to create the design. We're living in the guest house and excited to move into the main house when it's ready. We're very happy with the guest house and progress on the main house design.

My husband and I would highly recommend Eric and Flat Rock Productions. We have worked with Eric in designing a beautiful Mediterranean style home as well as a Carolina beach house style home and both experiences were outstanding. Eric and his staff are very professional and creative. The attention to detail and the research that Eric put in to both of our house designs were magnificent. He also works well and has had experience working with many of the island builders. Our experience could not have been better.

I worked with Eric Richmond and Angela Vosburg of Flat Rock Productions, who beautifully designed a 1000 sq ft cottage on our property for my father-in-law. It was such a pleasure to work with them. They made the overwhelming process seem like a piece of cake. They listened to what we wanted, and incorporated all of our needs into a beautiful design, and somehow made a small place feel roomy and comfortable. My expectations where surpassed. I will definitely be using them for my future projects.

We had a wonderful experience with Eric and his team at Flat Rock. Great communicator, timely, very reasonable costs and fun working with him on the design of our cabin on the island. He's highly skilled so the work was completed very efficiently. We'll be hiring Eric for our next project soon...the house and garage!

Our aging storefront desperately needed a face lift, and having worked with Eric in the past, felt he was the natural choice to accomplish what we were after. Eric and Angela are a great team and would highly recommend them. Attached are before and after pics.
